Those combos last night were a blast! It has been awhile since I enjoy all three that thoroughly.

I have to admit to feeling very outclassed in D1 though. Over the lap at Brand's I was (. 8 - 1second) slow. I feel like this game is lacking on teaching me how and where to improve my driving. Do any of you guys have any resources I can check out?

I've watched a few YouTube videos now on weight transfer and trail braking which seemed to help. Otherwise, what can I do to try and keep up?

Also, my G27 pedals are flickering like mad. I've cleaned them three times with no differences in performance so I'm thinking the pedals need replacing. Does anyone have any experience doing this? I have about 50% of the range available to me on my gas pedal and about 70% on my brake pedal which I feel is slowing me down a bit too.

You’ve got speed you just need consistency. That’s the hardest part I think. You will occasionally see even the great Nic-Kl off in the grass

And if people (me) don’t take you out in T1 you might have a better chance at achieving consistency

I will say my worst problem used to be getting so amped up by trying to prove myself that I would overdrive by braking late, making abrupt or too strong of cornering corrections.

Now I try to relax, brake on time, track in and out of corners more smoothly etc. And instead of trying to “beat” them I will follow, brake a little earlier to avoid contact (or evasive maneuvers) and go smoothly.

It’s at these times when my lap times drop. Following a fast guy around for as long as I can will sometimes surprise myself with a lap time lower than I thought I could get. Then I try to apply it to the next race

If your pedals are sticking(some brake still applied on the straights, throttle hanging/not going to idle) I would address that first and foremost. Significant time is lost dragging the brakes, and/or having to deal with the understeer from a throttle that hangs at 5-10% when you aren't on the pedal. Significant time, as in a second or more per lap depending on the combo. I wouldn't concern myself with the range you see in the calibration screen(though, probably worth going into the calibration and hit "default" to reset everything. FYI, as soon as you push anything in the calibration screen it begins to register that as your max pedal force. Once you've got it set to default, if you are getting full throttle when the throttle pedal is depressed, full brake when the brake pedal is depressed, and both are at zero when you are off the pedals; I wouldn't worry about it.

But, if you aren't getting full throttle or brake or either are hanging after you release the pedals, fix that asap or you will only be chasing your tail trying to look at lap times. If the potentiometers are bad, I suspect replacements are still available online. IIRC even the G29 still uses the same pots all the way back to the G25.

Hate to say it, but wheels/pedals are wear items. I don't drive nearly as much as many do, but I'm on my third wheel since 2007 when I first went to a modern wheel from the controller(previously used an Interact V3 wheel back in the 90s). Two g25s and now on a G29. And in the last couple years I've stolen two potentiometers from my old pedalsets to replace the ones in my G29, as I kept the G25s around for parts. I've since tossed most of the spares, as I think I've decided that the next thing that goes on it I'll replace the G29 with something else.

If once you know your pedals are sorted, I can probably help you find some time as well. I don't drive a whole lot anymore but feel free to send me a message here or on psn (two underscores.) If you're on a ps4, the jitter between a ps5 takes away the ability to see some of the finer inputs in spectate mode in a lobby; but can try a few things.

I will take a look at @Xradkins suggestion and see if I can order a couple replacements.

You had a fast pace yesterday too ! It was really fun to battle cleanly with you on multiple occasions. Slow cars are the best even though D2 guys don't like them so much.

Edit: Fun races last night guys! The Suzuki combo was a blast. I have ordered the parts for the poten-meter and hope to be full throttle consistently on the straights again soon!
