There are ton of articles floating around the net to do a ton of stuff by yourself and building things by online instructions, do it yourself, or how to ect. I think that putting a section like this somewhere might be nice see as Some of the members have built computers, cockpits for racing wheels, and other stuff like that.

Just a suggestion.

I voted yes, but I doubt I'll ever use the section. I just see myself making something or telling someone how to make something. I do however think it would come in handy for some people who are into DIY stuff.

Could be useful, whether it cant just be under a sub section in the hobbies / model area would be another thing...

Don't know what I could offer people in the way of DIY advice! probably end up killing them...

I thought you ment a "How to GTP" - little tutorials like "How to move your thread" or "How to use the Search function", for forum newbies. (No, I didn't search to find out if there already is :))

I reckon if you want to ask for help on building a cockpit, you go and ask in the Steering Wheels & Racing Cockpits sub forum. If you want to build a computer, ask in the Computer & Web Design sub forum. If there's nowhere else, ask in the Ask GTPlanet! section. I can see how it would be useful to have them all in one place - but I think a new thread each time would make it more personal, and helpful for the person asking.

No for me.

It's not that I think it's a bad notion (instructables is a great site, imo), I just don't think it'll be widely used - not unlike the product and service reviews, only moreso.
It'll probably get a lot of support up front, followed by one week where the yes voters post how they built the one thing they ever made from scratch, and then forgotten.

To second Boundary Layer's comments, while this certainly would be a noble forum topic, I don't think it would have a place here on GTPlanet.
