So, I used to live in the USA once and many of my relatives still do, so when I brought my PS3 with me when I moved back home to Iceland I still kept my US PSN account (mainly because the store isn't available in Iceland).

Anywho, my trusty old US 60gb PS3 w/ PS2 backwards capability YLOD'd on me a few months ago. I didn't do anything about until last month when I bought a new PS3 here in Iceland and GT5 as well, but I'm still using my US account.

Today I just bought all the DLC's, only to find out that using a EU disc with the DLC's bought on a USA account doesn't work!

My question to you:

Do you know if I will be able to use my DLC's if I buy a US version of GT5 and have it sent to me, or will I have to create a UK PSN account and buy all the DLC's there as well and be out of 66 bucks instead of 33?

Basically, does it use the Disc region as reference, or the console region?

If the DLC region is the same as the disc region, it will work. You can't mix match!

You also have to re-create your account on the new PS3 for it to work. Just sign in with your existing/old account, the one where you bought the DLC from.

I already have the account on the new PS3, and I even bought the DLC on the new PS3.

So what you're saying is that if I buy a US version disc and reinstall the game using that disc, the DLC's will work?

Reason I ask is because it's cheaper to buy another copy of the game and have it sent from America than it is to buy the DLC's again.

Correct. If you buy a US version disc (same as your old one), reinstall, your DLC's will work (if they are US region also).

Region + Region = Yes
Region + Different region = No

Sweet. Then a new disc is on it's way :D I wasn't happy with the current disc anyway, since it's the Platinum version and I don't like that, looks cheaper

I'll have my US version disc on Tuesday, can't wait!

However, I have one question... Does the same apply for all other games as well, or is it just GT5 that needs the US version disc to go with DLC bought on a US account?

One very disappointing thing about switching to US version disc: Euro save games do not work with it! I had to start from scratch. All my 35 A-Spec and 32 B-Spec levels, 13 gold licenses, countless won races, over 300 cars, many of the I got from trades, all gone :( Well the save is still there, but it won't work with the US version GT5.

Anyway, additional question: I bought the XL Edition which includes a DLC promo code. But since I already have all the DLC's, I'm wondering if these promo codes would work with a non-us PSN account?
