Hi, as an avid car fan i know that the top speed of the Lamborghini Aventador is 217 mph. so you can imagine my suprise when i went on the speed test track (dlc) and did the top speed test, and it hit the limiter at 193.8? anyone else had this problem? also i dont wanna put a custom gearbox in it because i want to keep it standard, any advice is useful thankyou.

update: i found what was wrong, it was me lol.

Sadly there are more cars that have (slightly) incorrect specs than otherwise, so it's not really surprising.

i find it truly baffling that a game company which prides itself on perfection would make a mistake that big, shame really.

there are several factors for this. Did you do an oil change what tyres were you using, was there aero, did you adjust the aero, did you adjust transmission, did you adjust suspension and what were the exact conditions the RL aventador used. Some times a lot of things are changed in the stock car to reach such high speeds.

OP you are definitely doing something wrong. Look at this vid

nope everything was brand new stock, nothing touched, was the first time i drove the car!
just noticed the in game gt5 description also states 217mph top speed.

you haven't played forza4 then, lol

Obviously you have not. Stop talking about things you have no idea about. Sour grapes.

There are some bits of info in GT5 that are odd, such as this one, and things like the new Beetles weight, the new Cooper tranny.

It seems like the latest cars are getting the most odd parameters.

That's very odd as i've been testing a bunch of cars, I give them an oil change out of the showroom (makes a difference, see countless previous threads) and the benefit of Sports Soft tyres, on the basis that if you are performance testing you might as well fit the stickiest road legal boots on. Also disabled TCS.

The result for the Aventador? 220.5MPH. There are indeed other cars which are pretty inaccurate (eg. the F1 and XJ220 are too slow, the gearing of the Caterham is horribly out and the BMWs are too fast, de-limited or not) but this seemed almost on the button to me.

EDIT: Whoa a bunch of people got their replies in before me. I don't think you should need to tweak or tune the aero settings etc though, personally.

Maybe a stupid question, but you did change into 7th gear..?

Oh look the Forza Defense Force has arrived lol. Relax the guy might be exaggerating or maybe true but THAT IS NOT UP FOR DEBATE. THE TOPIC IS DIFFERENT. DO NOT TURN THIS INTO ANOTHE RONE OF THOSE STUPID THREADS KAY. :grumpy:

You seem to be quick to say this is a real oddity especially when if you use the aventador in the top speed test you should get around 216-218. It seems someone has not played GT5 in a while.

OP not sure what glitch it is though can you post a vid maybe.

ah i found out the problem, it was me. i made the most basic mistake ever, forgetting 7th gear! my apologies, thanks anyway, feel free to face palm!

I think you may have hit the nail on the head there as short of adjusting the tranny then somehow forgetting, or doing the same with the powerr limiter, there is no way it should fall short of 215MPH+

EDIT: Ah, easily done! As an aside note, I clocked the exact same max speed with the Enzo - 220.5MPH

Hahhahahaah... hey i learn something... forgot the 7th gear huh? hueheue.... but how we setting the 6 speed gearbox steering wheel to support 7 gear on aventador? ...it will ok if we use paddle shift. But with the H shifter?

If you want to be accurate to real-life, the paddle shifters make the most sense anyways. Especially since the only stick-shift seven speed gearbox won't be making it into the GT series any time soon :p

You can't is my guess. Unless you somehow hotwire a 7th gear then go ahead. Nah I'm kidding but seriously just use the paddle shift.

Forza4 is way more off than GT5, not only in car stats but particularly car models, acceleration and overall grip. You'll get the same response by everyone who likes cars and racing in general, and also plays pc sims (not console games; saw your profile).

In both games most cars aren't perfectly represented, and will never be with 550+ and 1100+ cars, but easily forza4 is behind gt5 on this particular aspect.

and in the end the car was fine, the OP was wrong lol.

Maybe one of you guys can answer a question of mine. I have seen some videos on youtube showing cars being customized in FM4. I noticed that when the race exhaust is installed, but the exhaust don't change. Is this a glitch or just the way it is in FM4?

Alright, since the answer has been brought to the front, and people yet again think this needs to devolve into another FM vs GT thread, despite there being plenty of those, it's now closed.
