Good morning all,

First post here on GTPlanet! But I was always a regular visitor to the site/forum to keep an eye on all news and info etc. Been a GT fan since I can remember and still enjoying GT5... well, I do until bugs like this come along.

Basically I downloaded the Car/Track Pack 1 (Spa, Space Kart, paints, suits and cars inc. a handful of GTR's, CR-Z TC etc).

I installed the content and it all worked, I could use the tracks online and offline, I used the cars, paints worked etc all as it should have. Then last night I was online in a lounge and a friend selected Spa... tried to go to track and DENIED! Something along the lines of "Error: You do no have the downloadable content". Had a look at my DLC cars, they are in my garage but have a little exclamation mark next to them and won't let me drive them.

First things first, quit game, fire it back up... still not working.

Switch PS3 off, back on... still not working.

Check the DLC button on the home page and it shows all contents of the pack as "installed".

Not sure what to try from here? It say's they're still installed and at the same time it is saying I don't have the DLC? :ouch:

I had a quick search of the forums and seen people had similar issues after having to restore OR before the latest update (which apparently fixed it)... but I am fully up to date, not had any prior issues etc so I'm stumped.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Dan

I'd like to run an experiment on you.

Do you have the (free) Family Upgrade packs downloaded and installed? If not, could you do so and then report back if that has fixed it? If you do already (or if that doesn't fix it), switch to a different account and install them (simply go to GT5 and they should be available to install) on that account, save, then exit and reload both that account to see if they're still there and your first account to see if they're still there/installable again?

Not seen that particular pack but just looked it up and found this:

*If you are purchasing DLCs after December 20th the family upgrade will automatically be applied to all new purchases.

I only purchased the DLC a week ago so I should have it automatically, I will try it out after work and let you know :)

I think that means DLC released after December 20th - it's automatically applied to Car Pack 2, Car Pack 3 and Speed Test Pack. I have this theory that the DLC Car Pack 1/Track Pack sudden uninstall is directly related to the Family Pack upgrade and an unintended consequence - and since it's a free, easy fix, not a problem. If I'm right :D

Ah I see what you're saying. No problem, I'll look into it and see if I have access to the family pack. See if works as a quick fix... my fear is that if it does fix it, and the issue happens again. Then what!? LOL.

We shall have to wait and see I guess.

I see there is upcoming maintenance on 7th Feb, wonder if this might be something resolved by it.

Well... then my experiment is over and I'll hide in a box.

Famine, no need to hide in box... Experiment was a success!

Went to PS store, seen the family pack for tracks and cars were available for download, got em, fired up. All DLC cars and tracks available again B)

Thanks!

Heh. Good news then :D

I don't really know why it happens, but it appears that the Family Upgrade has become integral to the original DLC. Big old shrug on that one.
