Why would, or should, anyone be expected to waste their time sifting through junk search results? Thats a 2 in 25 hit hate for dlc or paint, neither of which would appear to contain the right info being sought.



Found someone else closed thread. IE one with info GTP would rather bury in my opinion. Thought I would test how easy it would be to find the info he was looking for: How to dupe paint chips. Turns out not that easy. Why do moderators here place the onus of searching the sites admittedly huge number of threads and posts on the user instead of letting them make a connection with a person who is currently online and is willing to answer the question? This is the only forum I have ever seen that doesn't allow new threads that have been "done before", as if the user is supposed to know the entire history of the forum? Seems like an official policy or new thread guidelines would be in order. Yet I don't see that. Just lots of heavy handed moderating if they don't like your content. What gives?

Hello, first off if this is in the wrong forum, please redirect me. Anyway, I was thinking about getting a wheel but I don't have much money. I'm wondering what is the best but cheapest wheel I can get?

This is a perfect example of a thread that should not exist, because technically a search eventually may have found a thread to answer his question. But no one is going to report him are they? Truth seems to be you get reported based on the opinions expressed and the mods seem to interject if they want to.

If your going to close new threads that could have been avoided with a search,
How would anyone manage to find something completely original to say to keep the forum alive?

Closing threads is a form of censorship and or discrimination it seems to me.

You seem to be saying that most threads are closed and there is no way a new member can contribute to the site. That is not the case. If there is an open thread that is discussing the same topic you might as well do the necessary search and post in there.

You do realize that you wanted to post something about DLC in the GT5 Questions & Answers Section and you did a search for the entire website?

If you actually read the front GT5 forum page properly, you wouldn't have to divert your precious time to searching.

Also, a free protip for you: the GT5 forum is not a helpdesk for non-GT5 topics. Put threads in the proper place and don't waste mods time posting non GT5 related topics there. This is the 3rd such non-GT5 topic you've put in the GT5 forum.

So it didnt occur to you that perhaps it was closed not because it was "worth burying", but rather because:

a) it's been covered adequately about a dozen times before (non-DLC duping)
b) see (a)
c) PD have done their best to prevent people circumventing duping for a paid for service (DLC). Ever considered that discussing an potentially illegal activity is, I don't know, illegal?

You don't have to know the entire history, you just need to know how to search properly, which you don't seem to know how to do.

No, only repetitive content gets its fair treatment. We even tolerate whiny content. Just look at this thread for example.
