I turned on my playstations to play gt5p but could not sign in. It kept coming up dns error. What does that mean and how do you fix it. All cables and routter work on my pc. Please help.

Check the network connections on the appropriate function in your PS3's browser (Settings -> Network Settings).

Try it again with your router, plug it out from the power wait 5-10 seconds and plug it in again (it never hurts to do that ;)), if this wont help make a internet connection test in your PS3 and post the results.

o you have a Sky router? Its been happening to me for a couple off months now and its really annoying. The way I got around it is by not trying to sign in for about a minute or so then I try later and it works. The important thing is to keep on trying

+ I would try & sign in during a game by then when the ps3 has been on for 5 mins or so it will log in
Hope this helps :)

Yes, I have been having some problems with a Sky router as well. If you search on the internet it seems the PS3 doesn't get on with certain routers (possibly netgear). It seems to work a lot better if you use an ethernet cable - obviously this isn't ideal for most people though.

Yep exactly wires are such a hassle, I've heard that sky have had updates from the beginning of may onwards for their TV ( New viewing card) and their internet

I'm Online now these are the settings I have
Adress settings: Automatic
IP Adress: 192.168.0.2
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default router: 192.168.0.1
Primary DNS: 192.168.0.1
Secondary DNS:0.0.0.0
if YOU enter these manually it might work

Of course if YOUR browser stops working after YOU put these settings in scan for the router and it should bring YOUR Internet browser back at least. BTW thats another thing I don't Get Why Does The Internet Browser Work & not PSN. The Only Thing I can Think Of is the server for PSN users for sky is down. K sorry Daan

Stop double posting please, Jack. Use the edit button if you wish to add anything to your previous post if no one else has posted in the meantime. Thanks.

Not to mention the appalling text speak! Give it a rest, Jack. Proper, full words please.

I'll add that I use a Sky router - reflashed to remove the Sky firmware - both wired and wirelessly for my two PS3s and have never had a problem. The Netgear DG834GT is a cracking little router, especially once the Sky crap is removed from it.

Have been running a Sky router with no problems on PSN until about may, where I now get intermitent DNS problems, so I guess it might have been the update.

will have to try a reflash too.
