Do different wing types generate different levels of downforce?

When installing aero mods on a car, do different types of wings generate different amounts of (maximum) downforce, or is it all cosmetic?

I would assume a bigger wing would generate more downforce, but sometimes, a huge wing looks ugly on a car and if it doesn't make any difference, then I would rather choose one that looks aesthetically pleasing.

I did a quick search and didn't find any obvious answers.

As with GT4 there seems to be no difference in wing types. So pick the one you think looks best on your car and enjoy.
