Let me explain myself.

I started the FGT B-Spec Championship yesterday. I had one race left so I decided to "suspend" and resume back this morning.

After the race (which I guess I won since I left for work) my girlfriend decided to turn off the PS3 without even looking if there was a race in progress.

As far as I know, she turned off a few hours after the race ended but I'm wondering... will I have to restart the whole championship or it'll be saved? My guess is that she turned it off when it was on the "reward popup".

I really hope I won't have to do this s*** again. 37 laps per race (6 races) is pretty long, and boring!

Let me know! Thanks guys!

Dunno,

She's still your girlfriend you say?

 Yeah. She felt real bad when I told her it was racing a LONG event so...

She tought our cats may have turned it on, like they do so often...

Get the cats to race your Bobs.
Hope it works out for ya.

If it was actually turned off in the middle of the race or at the prize screen, it most likely did not have a chance to save. It's also a good possibility that your game will come up with the prompt to resume the championship again, if the game did not write over the game save.

Nah, like I said, i started the race at about 7:15am and she turned it off at about 10:45am, so I'm almost 100% certain that the 6th race of the Championship was over.

From personal experience, you are screwed. I myself did 3 Suzuka 1000km races in a row in B-Spec, without ever exiting the race menu. Turning the PS3 off after the third race's reward pop-up was the biggest failure in my gaming history. It doesn't save anything until you go back to the main menu.

Edit. GoSpeedRacer makes a good point tho. Your previous suspended race is still the latest save, and hasn't probably been erased anywhere yet. You might quite probably return to the last race after all. That of course wasn't the case in my Suzuka race, where there was no save created at any point.

I did a similar thing with fgt a spec. I won all races and suspended between all. On the last race I wasn't happy with settings so quit the game to reload the save file at the start of the final race. Pretty much threw the championship away. Even if I came last I would have still won the championship but quitting the game also quit the race. I hope that in your case it will resume since you turned off the system instead. Good luck. At least it's b spec. I wasted hours.

There's a difference between suspending a Championship series and quitting out of it. I'm assuming that you quit the Championship during that last race, instead of pushing the PS button and quitting the game, before it saved.

Quitting the Championship would overwrite the previous suspended game save and would cause the Championship progress to be lost forever.

In the OP's case, it is quite possible that his game save is still the one that is currently in suspended Championship mode, since it appears that all he did was resume the championship and the game was shut-off during the Reward screen that waits for a button push. 👍

Ah, I remember months back, when my PS3 would Fold@Home Grind 24Hr LaSarthe for prize money, and I'd come home to a turned off PS3 with my sister-in-law & wife watching some TV entertainment show...👍

When I came back home. I turned on my PS3 and it reloaded right to Monza :)

Everything was fine! Thanks a lot guys and GoSpeedRacer was right!

For those who are wondering: Yes, we're still together, haha! :)

Schweet! I'm glad that you were able to resume the Championship. 👍

I have one more single FGT race to run to have gold in all single races, then I'm going to do the Championship and hopefully be able to skip a race or two along the way. This is the last event that I need to complete this A-Spec level. ;)

I just want to let you know that when I turned on my PS3 that it resumed to the last point I saved which was before Monza.

SO basically, if you turn off the PS3 during the race or at the reward popup screen, it'll return to where you last saved/suspended.

I feel relieved because FGT Championship is 5 hours long! :p
