you mean 1000 miles in European Hall? no you do not have to compete in that event to get 25% completion of the game.

You don't need it for 25%, you need it eventually for 100% (and for the cash!)

Completing it will help you get to 25%, but if you're just after percentage you'd be better doing some manufacturer events.

I haven't checked out any of the manufacturer races yet, but there must be a lot of them. So far I've completed:
All licenses except Super, All of Mission Hall, All of Special Conditions Hall, All of Japan Hall, All of Beginner Hall, All of Professional Hall, about 3 Enduros, and one race from the Euro Hall. I'm not even at 40%!!

Yeah, I'm not real big on B-spec'ing, but I imagine I'll have to unleash B-spec Bob on that Euro hall race where you make about 900,000 credits in about 15 - 20 minutes.
