Apparently...
My DSL modem is in another room from my PS3 and TV. If I want to play Prologue it asks me to log in. I need to log in even if I'm not playing online? What's up? Am I going to have to buy a router or move my rig around just to play Prologue off-line?
What to do? :ill: :dunce:

no mate, you dont HAVE to be online to play gt5p...
if the game askes you to connect, just click no and go on playing...
spyrrari.

(is your name a joke??hope so...)

...then it'll update your Worldwide rankings for certain events. It's no biggy not to sign in though, it'll just update anything you've done next time you do.

But...but...it doesn't give me any option, it says-
Sign In To Playstation Network, (80029516)
The only option it gives me is the BACK button :nervous: :ill:

HA! I am the BLOWHARD :sly: It's a nickname I got long before the internet. But don't worry, I've mellowed with age and I'm house broken :dopey:

It requires you to be signed in for all PSN versions of the game.

If you have the Blu-Ray you are sorted.

I have the same problem as you, I can't take my PS3 over to someone's house and play the game I paid for.

Aye, this is a problem related to a lot of PSN titles (warhawk's EP, etc.). It also won't allow other accounts on the PS3 (such as a brothers, etc.) to access the game because it requires verification that it is on the user's PS3 that purchased it. Why it uses the account I don't know, the PS3 MAC or other info gained upon installation would be better suited I think, but ah well.

Brief explanation even shorter, it checks to make sure it's you, so it needs to be connected to a internet access point to play many downloaded games/expansions.

Hmm. I never seemed to have this problem. I have the HK downloaded version and the US blu-ray. Sometimes my internet gets screwy and I can't sign in to psn but I can still play the game.

I did call Sony, and there's no way around it. Basically, just like always, they assume we're all thieves and pass the problem to us :(
I did get a router set up but I remembered why I had waited so long to get one; every possible problem happened and it took almost 3 hours to get everything sorted! I would have rather been playing GT5 :P
Live and learn...it would be nice if there was a warning about this before they let you blow your money though!!!
Thanks again everyone :D
