Do softer suspension set ups help tire wear?

I tried many different set-ups in my C60 hybrid at La Sarthe, and I found that both an ultra low ride height and stiff springs set up has the same tire longevity (softs) as in the stock form which is much softer and higher off the ground.

I do play with the DS3, so does playing with a controller throw out suspension set ups altogether also?

It depends. Only if you can drive consistently with the DS3 you will know if your setup makes a difference in tire wear.

I think suspension settings altogether only change the behavior of the car. For example, your setup would make for an easier to control car, while slightly limiting the cornering. I dont think that this has anything to do with tire wear.

Depends how much of a simulator GT5 is, suspension set up should effect tyre wear.

Its the ride height....I used to have massive problems with tire wear as well.

Thanks for the answers. I think 50 BMG is right, and its mostly in the ride height, but so far any differences in a higher ride height compared to my ideal set up is barely noticeable at most.

I like low ride heights though for the added control it gives me.
