Do some mods overreact? And abuse there power?

I'm sure I will be banned or get into some sort of trouble for this but I'm sick of some of the mods on GTP and I want to know your opinions on this. I am not asking for mods to stand up for mods. No white knights please :)

Some do seem to be ready to pounce when you make a grammar mistake.

Irrelevant to GT5..

The so called Mods of GT5, or the mods of GTPlanet..?

:boggled:

Some do seem to be ready to pounce when you make a grammar mistake.

When I first started my other profile I got a warning. I watched my grammar and tried my best to be on point. Then as soon as I slip up and made a small grammar mistake I get jumped on and fined 5 points for (b4) that's what I got the 5 points for. A simple mistake that all that was needed was a pm saying "hey please don't use (b4)" yet they and many use "m8" short for mate.

I fixed it. Thanks mate. I use an iPhone. So it uses predictive text. I meant GTP but it switch it to GT5. lol

Sounds to me like "I want your opinions on this, but only if they coincide with my own." Some context would be nice so people could weight in rather than a "he said she said" affair.

This also isn't GT5 related in the slightest.

1st. No I don't care if you side with me or not. I'm asking a simple question to see if others are having same problems I am.

2nd. It is related in the sense that my perfectly good profile was ruined by a thin skinned moderator and because of that it has ruined my GTP experience which is directly linked to my GT5 experience. :)

👍

Also, try a quick search for other like minded individuals who don't like moderators. Try here for a start. Plenty of anti-moderator sentiment for you to gripe over.

And, it wasn't because of one moderator being hard headed. I do recall when you first joined the forum warning you about txt speak and whatnot and how many people wouldn't take kindly to it. It's been an on going thing with you. The vast majority of the thousands of us who use GTP are quite happy with the overall layout and the way the moderators are handling things.

Lol. Thanks J. Just gotta get this off my chest. Lol

So, you where banned, and now you are back?

I've been a mod on a computer overclocking forum for about 8 years and it's not a fun job. The mods on here have it much harder than I do because of the maturity level of the members. Modding on gtplanet is more like running a daycare center.

You guys get by with a LOT more than you would on most other forums, especially with useless posts/threads. I always tell people that don't like the way a forum is run, that they are free to just go somewhere else. 👍

As far as the "grammar/not GT5 related" complaints, a lot of that you can blame on the wannabe mods that inundate this forum. Those are the first people I'd hit with the ban hammer. 👎

You were given a warning and failed to follow the advise it gave (and the AUP) and as a result an infraction (of the lowest possible points value) was issued.

Its a standard action that is the normal course of events for those who do not follow the AUP; your response was then to publicly abuse the moderator. The result of that was you being banned, your still banned and this account now gets added to the ban.

The staff are not here to be abused because a member can't follow the AUP. Its quite simply if you don't like/can't follow the AUP then don't agree to follow it and don't post here.

Your chances are up, we do not wish to have you as a member.

Goodbye.
