I find it starnge so money people disagree but that isn't a really accurate qustion is i... it could be No McMerc are not guilty , or No McmErc are guilty but should be punished ... so I thought we should see what our own F1 community thinks

I don't think McLaren should be punished. If the FIA feel there isn't enough evidence to reward with punishment, then there's not enough eivdence to reward with punishment. They can't prove that McLaren as a whole knew about the data; Mike Coughlan could simply have gradually worked the Ferrari data into the car's design without anyone being any the wiser.

Well i think its not McLarens fault.Just because they caught Coughlan in the act with the document doesn't mean that they actually used it to develop the car.The car was already done before the season actually starts so why would they need the document. For all i know,Stepney and Coughlan may use that document at Honda, who knows.....Besides,there is not enough evidence to prove them wrong.I think all this hype from Ferrari is only because they were losing in the early middle part of the season.

But i don't get this, from the first report they say that they found some powder substances from one of the race cars fuel tank. They caught Stepney and suddenly Coughlan was involved in the conflict. So to be honest, how can one small thing ended up being so much 🤬 ?

I think McLaren should be put on some sort of probation (if there is such a thing in the FIA). Obviously if they were, they wouldn't do anything wrong and so there wouldn't be any real punishment. It just seems that this is like what used to happen to the rich and famous here in the USA... you are found guilty of the crime, but do no time. Doesn't really deter you (or anyone else) from doing it again.

What happens if another team is caught with Ferarri documents? What if another team is caught with McLaren documents? They can argue that they cannot be punished because McLaren were not punished.
