Okay, having listened to comment on GT3 for some time now, I think people here seem to approach GT3 either as a game to be completed, or as a driving simulation which they come back to again and again.

As an example, I know a few people who got through GT3, got their 100%, and have hardly touched it since. I got my 100% months ago, but probably still play GT3 as much as I ever did, in fact often dragging my NSX Type S Zero out just to do some laps in Run & Settings because I love driving it (I have the Logitech wheel).

So, which is it, people? Do you approach GT3 as a game, or as a driving simulator?

I approach it as a simulator.

The main reason I bought GT3 was for its physics...
Think about it, what are the chances of you driving a dream car and have fun by taking it to the track?

simulator, definately. if i was just interested in a racing game, i would buy all the other boring clones. or something like twisted metal thats more of an arcade shoot-em-up.

gt3 is the closest u can get to driving all those sweet cars. i probably wouldnt be able to test drive a viper, let alone afford one.

I approach it as a game.

I am positive the braking is too kind.

Yeah definitely a simulator. Being able to jump into cars worth hundred of thousands of dollars and get at least an idea of what it's like to drive them at their limit is great and that's what keeps me coming back.

simulator....of course....where else could you go and buy yourself a NSX..souped up and test it on a test track...(I to have the Logitech Wheel) which makes the game feel more real then the DS2!

i guess I could buy an NSX , supe it up and race it on a track... but why would i want an NSX??

Good poll!

It's the Real Driving Simulator for me. The realistic, serious approach and presentation of this game is the one that sets it apart from every single other game ever made.

not everyone has that kind of money

i guess kinda both. now that i've really played it, i'm considering learning to race professionally. same thing happened when i first got a flight sim.

Definitely as a simulator! That's the brilliance of it!

I see it as a simulator. I've reached 100% 5 months ago, but i'm still playing it, just for the fun and the realistic nature of the game.

I think of it as both, but i play and approach it as a video game. Even though it is much much more than a game....

I also think of it as both. I have near 100% completion and that was acheived quite along time ago, however I still play the game often.
I think that what would be needed to sway me in the direction of it being more of a simulator would be some more indepth strategies being involved to actually winning the game. Not just merely racing a race. Maby some sort of team management.

simulator all the way... since im not old enough for a license i can't drive a real car around and race... so i play the simulator properly known as gt3 to get my speed thrills out.

I take GT(1, 2, 3) as a simulator...first off that's what it says on the box(The Real Driving Simulator)but it's just too good to be considered a game as such...

I see it as a simulator too but have a lust for the game as well. ;)
The actions of the game are so true to life and even the modifications to the car are close to real life numbers and dynamics.
I didnt realize what half of the mods were for when I started playing 2 years ago and now that Ive got my own real life car to mod, it all comes together. *duhhh* :haha:
Simulator that is a great game too.

Simulator for sure

:king: King of all driving games, can't play those trashy checkpoint type games since GT2 :D

Throwing my two cents in, I approach it as a cross between both. It is the closest I can come to driving some of these exotics, which means that it is a game. However, I've played it to the point where I think I'm driving (Simulator) and my wife has thrown things at me to get me out of my GT3 coma enhanced tunnel vision.

I think I'm more partial to game, as I can't consider it "research" for looking for a new car. Although....That Lancer evo...

I like the game as a Driving Game Simulator

Smell ya laterzzzz

Ya, I view it as a game, and a game alone... While it is realistic-ish (hehehe), it ain't the same as drivin' your car. It's a game, through and through... It's role in life is to just be fun to goof around with.
