I washed & waxed my car today & I realized how this time of year is absolutely pefect for washing your car in Texas. It's nice & warm & perfect. In about two months it'll be to hot for it to be enjoyable but right now it's sweet. So yes...I enjoy doing it. I got done & still had plenty of energy so I went ahead & washed the rims & detailed the interior.

What about you...do you enjoy washing your car?

Yep perfect time to do it.... The weather was pretty damn nice today, it's been like that for a couple of days but there was some cloud cover...

My Dad loves doing it. He washed and polished it the other day. He also put tyre black on the tyres to make them look new again. He also a few months back painted white writing on the tyres. It looked really cool but it took up too much of his time so he gave up.

I think I'll love washing my car when I get one. :D

No. But i can't stand seeing it dirty so do it anyway.
But i always clean it with a dirty old rag and cold water from the outside tap, then dry it with a clean/cleaner rag.

I loathe doing the wheels though as they are usually covered in brake dust. :(

The interior is always kept dust free - usually by my hand or a rag i have sitting under the passenger seat.

But in terms of storage the whole car is very clean.

There is nothing (visible) in the boot - only carpet. Underneath is a space saver (which i'm going to get rid of as it is a crime to put one on a Skyline) and a bar thingy i think. In a hidden pocket on the side of the boot lies the car jack thingy.

Inside, there is nothing in the lower drivers or passengers door storage slots. Nothing in the storage compartments behind the drivers and passengers seat. Nothing in the CD holder box inbetween. Nothing in the little hole/storage space beside the handbrake. Parking garage money in the ash tray (i don't smoke and don't allow anyone to smoke in my car) and in the glove box there is my cellphone charger, some insurance forms, two bags of 'travelling lollies', a couple of books etc related to the turbo timer and aftermarket exhaust and thats about it.

Before you ask why i wrote so much - i'm bored. :p

Following Mustang-man:

I barely had my new car 2 weeks before stuff was cluttering up. CDs, receipts, head unit manual, head unit remote and a screwdriver for adjusting my amplifier settings all reside in my glovebox. Everything else gets dumped on the passenger seat or footwell.

Boot contains sub box with amplifier and required cabling, spare tire and jack.

The exterior needs a good wash and even more now considering I was cutting the wood for my subbox right next to it :irked:

The interior just needs a vaccum 👍

Not really. I don't like dirty cars, but I also don't like washing/cleaning cars.

I work at a car dealership, so my routine goes like this:

1. Pull up to the car wash.

2. Grab a brush(big ones you see at the car wash), clean hard to reach spots and wheels.

3. Go thru carwash.

4. After getting back to my apartment, spray on the tire cleaning foam.

My car's black, so between spring to end of summer, I have to do this almost weekly. 👎

Yup. And as I am too stingey to pay someone $5 to wash it, i usually wait till it is as dirty as sin before I clean it. I hate cleaning the wheels, as mine are a funny design that almsot encourages brake dust to get into hard to reach spots. Although, the last two times i washed it, I beat the rain by less then a minute each time :sly:

I hate washing and cleaning my car, but I hate even more seeing it dirty, so I wash it often.

I also really loathe doing the wheels, they get so dirty so quick :guilty:

Actually, if my car happened to be R33, I'd gladly hand wash it, every week. :D

Last summer I spent an average of 6 hours washing, drying, cleaning, waxing, and detailing my car. I had no life.

Washing my car has got to be one of my favorite pass times. I love getting up on nice weekend mornings and givin the DSM some lovin' :sly:

Even though it isn't my car I love washing my parents car...

Why you may ask.

Well, because I get £5 for doing it :D My dad rarely washes his car, but its crappy so who cares.

Don't like it, takes a lot of time ( I do only handwashing ) and two days later the car is full of insects (summer) or salt (winter) again... I don't really care about the looks of a dirty car, but the dirt destroys ( insects, brake dust, salt) your car and that is why I have to do it sometimes... of course I like a blinking washed car, but a good handwash of your car takes a lot of time... time I don't have or time I could use for driving the car, playing games, watching DVD's hanging out with friends etc...

I just went out and cleaned my wheels.

Oh man...

My exact words. Too much work to be "undone" in two or three days! :scared:

I like washing my car. I just got done doing it, in fact...

I tweek out on my car :nervous:. I regularly wash/wax and clean/leather protect the inside, I detail the lights when needed so they dont get yellow. I wax my rims so they don't get dirty as fast. It never gets dirty, I park it in the garage at home and at work. I don't let people eat in it, I hardly smoke in it. I park it as far away from other cars as possible. :scared:

I hate washing my truck, I wish I would have never bought a black one. Althought I found one of those auto washes that I just fit into without scraping. So I go through that pretty often and it's only $5. But living in Michigan its next to impossible to keep your car somewhat clean. You get the dirt and dust in the summer and the salt in the winter. I pretty much just wash it before I go crusing and what not.

If I had a WRX STi or an Evo, I'd never wash it.

If however, I had something else, then depending on how sexy the car is, then yes, maybe I would.

And Chris Criswell, your avatar is orgasmic.

I love to wash my car in wintertime (in underground parking for sure)
It's cold but feel so good when I see all the salt off my car

I hate doing it in summer, because those tiny dead bodies are freaking disgusting
as well as those brake dust on the alloy ...

I love washing my car and find it really satisfying when it’s all lovely and shiny, there’s just no other feeling like a freshly autoglym waxed car. 👍

I hate having to wash my T-Bird. It's not a reliable car, and it's a hassle to wash it only to have it break down on the way home from the car wash...

No. I wash trucks everyday for 4 hours during the school year and 8-9 hours a day in the summer. By the time I get done doing all of that, I'm too pooped or sick of cleaning that I don't want to wash anything else. I have learned many tricks though that will help out in my future life. 👍

I used to enjoy washing my 240, back last summer before it started getting beat up and still looked mint after a wash. But, then, it started taking damage, and now it's destroyed, so I've got no car to wash.

No I hate washing my car. I'm fanatical about cleaning all the nook and crannys because I'd like it to stay clean for longer and not have those annoying black streaks down the car afterwards... Although I got those anyway! :banghead:

Don't even get me started on polishing my car... Thanks to the faded paintwork it looks good for a day and then looks like I'd never even done it :grumpy: Bumper blackner helps though 👍

Might change when I get a Volvo you never know ;) (Although probably the appeal of washing dirt of it will quickly dissapear, probably as soon as I pick up the sponge...)
