Topic says it all,

I don't really play clean. I get down and dirty. Anything for a win. But now im trying to keep the reality and starting to play clean ever since I got the wheel. I can drive my dads benz now since i got the wheel. (im 14) He lets me since he thinks that im good enough onm GT3. It helps too. Im driving way better now!

Play clean:D :) :trouble:

True. Like I used my S2000 with the best settings from my friend in arcade mode. It has like 419 hp. They try and match the cars. I got matched with the Mazda 787, Pagini Race car. And all cars like that. I was soo pissed. But my S2000 put up a great race you guys should try the settings! Johnny from neoseeker makes the best settings.

Clean, against a machine?! HAH! wouldn't waste me time. I usuually lap em then push em from behind and slam them into walls.

Whatever paddles your canoe.

I always try to run clean because I'm trying to simulate real racing. A little rubbing counts as real racing, but I try to avoid stuff that would obviously damage the car, like ramming the AI at braking points, etc.

Plus, if you get into OLR competition, AI contact is usually limited or forbidden entirely, and grounds for a DNF. So I try to be in the habit of avoiding the idiots as best I can.

That doesn't mean I will do anything to avoid contact - if I've got the line and they turn into my door, so be it. But I won't deliberately punt them.

You're a noble person duke ... how can you show mercy to a machine though? Did they show mercy when the GT3 computer AI slaughtered my family and ate all the food in my fridge?! did they?! *runs off crying*

I generally drive clean, unless i get bored and i am kicking there asses on endurance races.....where i have fun with the other cars, and try and get people stuck. I once got AI car stuck on the end of the wall between the Start/Finish straight and the pits on SSR5. He was there for over 20 laps until i hit him into the pits, cause i felt sorry for him.

Heh, heh, heh. For instance, the other night I was chasing my teammate in the twin 787B up the hill towards the Corkscrew, and I had just edged around the R390 when the other 787B suddenly dropped anchor right in front of me. I spiked the brakes, but I still hit him a good one, sending us both caroming around. I didn't bother restarting the race, but I did cuss him out a good one when we got back to the team transporter.
;)
The only car I show no mercy on is the Pennzoil GT-R, because that guy drives like a seek-and-destroy torpedo.

it will be ok, im here for you.... :(

and i drive clean unless i know its goin to be too close were i ram the opponent in the wall on the turn or last strait away:D

I try to race them clean, but they almost always ram into the back of your car coming into turns. Sometimes I hit them, but not on purpose. Sometimes there is just no way not to make contact with them, because of how they drive.

I like to race clean but the AI can make it impossible. I hate it when I'm driving well and am about to nail a turn just right and I get rammed from behind and pushed off the line, and then passed (the corkscrew is the worst because you have to slow down so much). There have been times when I try to get revenge for that.

In endurance races I'll generally lap the AI and finally stay behind one of them for a while to practice braking and driving clean. But eventually it just seems too slow and I move on.

I'm exactly the same way... I try to run as clean as possible, but I'm not going to waste valuable time swerving out of the way of those fools.

Those are the worst. I was trying out kodiak's "gold ingot @ Seattle" race, and one of the biggest keys to winning that with the ingot (Suzuki Alto Works) is to keep a good momentum and to avoid crashing. Just as I crossed the railroad tracks and about to enter that chicane of sorts, the Corvette behind me nailed my arse and I went slamming into the wall. *shakes fist* I still beat it though.

I'm the same way with the GT40.... but my reason is because it sounds so horrible that I try as hard as I can to stop its incessant racket.

Blasphemy! I love the GT40's engine sound! :p

Ahh, yes. It all started five years ago.
PlayStation,"....the most advanced racing game ever created". Hmm..... Not much money, that Mitsu. FTO GPX looks pretty cool. On the track, take off..... set up for the turn.....BANG!! (clipped hard on the inside)...er...rubbing is racing?....next turn, brake...turn in....BLAM!!!!!. Spun around?!?!?! WTF!!!! CRASH! POW!!!! WHERE'S THE BLACK FLAG ON THESE MOTHER FU****S!?!?! And it goes from there.
I'll take the proper line when I can, but DON'T get in my way. I'll bounce off you (AI) on the inside, put you in the wall, whatever.
I use the same style racing against my friends on Brooklyn (I live upstate now) & that's how I got my name.
Sometimes, I'll follow the AI to re-learn the lines at certain sections (they follow the line at all costs, unless they spin out for no apparent reason). Otherwise, no mercy. ESPECIALLY enduros! I LOVE to abuse them on enduros!! (That, & "Pylon Soccer") Sometimes, when it seems I've got a decent bunch, I'll try to race like a gentleman........POW!!!! O.K.......You asked for it!!!! :D

I always race clean. But when my brother dropped to 6th position, and 30 seconds behind the leader after 5 laps on SSR11 of the Vitz Cup, I had no choice but to use the walls. I got lucky :) On the last corner of the last lap, I was up into 2nd place and almost right behind the first place Vitz. Then the Vitz slightly hit the inside of the curve, and I was able to beat it to the finish. :D That was exciting. I saved that reply cuz I thought it was an impossible comeback. So, sometimes maybe we do need to play unfairly?

Of late I try to drive them fairly clean. Serious rubbing costs time. I also try to run in a car that isn't too superior to what the AI is running. I race bettter when I'm racing the pack instead of the clock.

Ah, Mario Kart on Super Nintendo... that kicked so much butt! :D And lightning... the lighting ruled!

I play clean unless I get shunted of the track, then revenge obviously needs to be taken. Which usually means I play dirty :D

Almost every week I'm submitting times for OLRs these days. So currently it's a wall-free, AI-free, bp 200/140 time. For my own fun I try to stay clear of the AI - especially if it's the same car as mine, or a Supra of any description - but if they hit me, I'll hunt them down mercilessly next time I lap them... :D

In most OLR comps you have to run the race(s) clean:
2 wheels on the track and very minimal wall/AI contact
IMO its the only way to go as wall riding (if done incorrectly ;) ) will only cost you time as will AI contact
