By proper vehicle upgrades, I mean the ability to upgrades the engine, suspension, transmission, add turbos or superchargers etc. Do you guys think that this would be added via update?

By the looks of it we are only able to upgrade in a very simple way (power and other things).
Should we expect old GT style upgrading sadly no.
