I have been talking with the wife and we have both decided it might be time for a life change for us. We have both been born and raised where we live now and there's nothing keeping us here but comfort. I have been doing work for AT&T for the past two years, I install new laptop cradles and RFID equipment in their vehicles. I am going to put in an application to be a Tech for AT&T and I was looking over the areas that the position I want is available. Out of the entire USA the three states I have an opportunity in are COlorado, Utah, and Missouri. These aren't the only states but these are the only states I am interested in.

I am just looking for a little info on these states from people who live there or have lived there. The cities I personally are interested in is Denver, Salt lake city, and Kansas City. I dated a girl that has family in Salt Lake City and from she has said it is just a great area, beautiful and most of the people there are super family oriented, which my wife and I live for our kids so that sounds good. The only issue I think I might have in Salt Lake City is the religious issues. Its mainly Mormon and I am not a christian at all, I don't have an issue with christians because everyone should be able to believe what they want but I just don't know how well I would be accepted anywhere there and no have stuff pushed on us trying to convert us or "help" us as they would say.

I have heard Denver is just beautiful and a wonderful place to live also. Kansas city I have never talked to anyone from there. So if you have or do live in any of the states I would love to have some feedback. Mainly on crime and schools. I really don't care about night life and such, if I'm not doing something with my kids I'm just sitting in the living room playing GT or COD so those things don't matter to me.

Thanks!

UnoMOTO should be able to fill you in on Denver and High-Test can for KC.

I think. :p

The most I've ever done is drive through them or, in the case of Salt Lake City, spend the night in a tent on my way through.

All I know about Missouri is that they detain you if you carry gold and think you're a terrorist if you have ron paul/libertarian bumper stickers.

I got gold fillings in the front bottom row of my mouth, guess I would be screwed:dopey:

Not sure how much Missouri is like Illinois, I've only been in to St. Louis, but if its at all like Illinois you're gonna find boredom and fields.

My brother has two friends he went to high school with (he graduated in 1970) I knew both of them and they moved to Boulder which is outside of Denver after they finished college I'm guessing here sometime around 74/75. I went to visit one of them I'm thinking around 1982 and he liked the area, they both still live there. We all grew up in Bristol, Va so it was a climate change don't remember him talking about winter much but he did say it was pretty cool in the summer to go into the high elevation of the Rockies to cool off.

I hate hot weather, really I hate hot weather when its humid, like it is in AL. The only reason I would have a problem with a cold area is just because of my kids and the extra cost it takes to heat a house these days:crazy: I myself would prefer cold weather over hot but my wife is the other way around. Im taking her to New Orleans when it starts to get into spring and thinking about going over to Austin and checking it out in person. I know its hot but its not the same type of hot because of the lack of humidity.
