Just want to know how people like the new Motegi track. I've driven on each layout exactly once and was pretty bored. Haven't been back since. What's your opinion?

I love Motegi since GT4. I find it to be one of the most interesting real circuits on the GT franchise. The mini oval works well with really small cars and Go Karts, the short course is perfect for hatchbacks and light FF cars, and the full course goes well with 300 to 350HP 500pp cars, which is the vast majority of vehicles in game.

The big oval... meh.

In my opinion, it is good to have it.

The only thing I don't like about it is the lighting. In GT4 it looked better with that killer Dusk effect.

I think PD have done a good job modelling the Twin Ring Motegi track and it's just as fun as it was to drive in GT4 :) .

Going to have to agree with you here, to be honest it would be much more better if it had Change Time/Weather:

I love it. It's a great technical track that offers some variation in lines through corners. I feel it's more of a challenge in faster cars, because the braking zones are quite challenging too, in that there's a small window for getting your car slowed down and then turned in, especially at corners like the one before the bridge.

The sweeping corners after the oval crossover are brilliant as well. High apex-speed bends that are fun in any car.

I drove a few laps the day it came out, haven't been back since.

I love doing GT500 races on it in Arcade-mode 👍
Haven't used the speedway though.

I really like it when racing on it online, all 3 variations (I'll get to the oval) can be fun as there's lots of places to overtake and it's not too technical so you can focus more on the actual racing.
The short version has a very tricky last section of corners though which makes it a very interesting short track.
As for hotlapping or just cruising around I tend to agree that even the full course can become a bit boring after a while (but then I haven't even by far used the majority of cars so far, my fully tuned 600PP+ monsters have yet to be taken there).
The oval is the nicest oval in the game in my opinion, not just because it's both shorter than Daytona and Indy but more importantly because both corners have a different radius which to me makes it more interesting to drive on.

I think the lack of any elevation change is what makes it boring for me. It's hard for a really flat track to be too exciting.

I used to do tuning and time trial at Motegi in GT4, used it a lot next to the Nordschleife. Great track and I'm going to buy it very soon, I am sure it will be just as good as in GT4 if not better :)

I don't have but I love it. I even voted for it on the feedback section. Will get it when GT6 comes out.

The main problem is that there are no events for the new tracks.
Spa, kart space and Motegi are all boring as GT5 is itself.

I've been having lots of fun at the twin ring lately. It's a track that doesn't look like it should be fun but really is. As it's been said, the circuit is very technical and challenging so when you get a corner just right it is very rewarding. Just today I was driving the track in the RUF 3400s. That was brilliantly fun. A couple days earlier it was the Autobacs Garaiya (Super GT) that I couldn't stop lapping.

It would be great if the DLCs were better integrated with single player. Or if there was a PSP style quick race to use the new tracks. But yeah I like Motegi as a circuit.

Just finished an online race of 24 laps on both road course and oval. It was a lot of fun. The road course makes for some good close racing and has some good passing zones that you can take advantage of. See my sig for the enduro on the road course in a week and a half.

I like it, the road course is a lot of fun, just like in GT4, and the oval is a blast in the FGT and the NASCARS surprisingly. Well worth the money in my opinion. Just wish more people used it online..

Its not my favorite track first of all. Second, I wish PD would incorporate the DLC tracks into A spec. If they did that, I'd buy Motegi track in a heartbeat.

I love that track. But I dont pay for a track that has been in the previous game and then get charged for it. Hell no.

Motegi East is a great place for benchmarking stock supercars. It has a great mix of high-speed sweepers, hard braking zones with opening exits, and long straights. It is interesting how close a McLaren F1, Enzo and LP640 are in lap times around there.

I, along with several other members of the World Motorsports Association, fully support and approve of Motegi.

Star Mazda
Karts
FIAT Trophy
Bankfin TCC

... and more are running Motegi layouts.

Point is: you won't be bored, battling with 10+ other cars, only lapping by yourselves, which even I find boring.

Motegi doesn't have time change or weather, so I'm not even buying it.

I felt a bit ripped off when I got TRM as I was expecting weather change like with spa DLC but oh well still cheap considering how many hours I'll send driving round it and maybe there will be an update giving it time and weather change.

"Yo dawg, I heard... listens to you..." Umm, update unlikely. So far as I'm aware, the workers in the PD R&D Section can't figure out that all of their questions are answered here... Or their translators aren't capable. :scared:
