Do you still consider a car as "stock" when an engine rebuild is done?

Of course, it's done on used cars, but I think the answer is yes.

Thoughts ?

Of course.. If you thought about a car as modified after doing proper
maintenance on it, and did not do the proper maintenance on it as a result for fear of modifying the car, then you'd be doing it a disservice by making the car suffer, its the same thing as not changing the oil on your real car for fear of ruining your car, til it gets ruined anyway when the engine seizes.

Yes.

And it is allowed in "tuning: prohibited".

Engine rebuild is maintenance, not mechanical or body modification.

The only things in GT Auto that would disqualify a car from "tuning : prohibited" or make the car "modified", would be the race modification or aero & body kits.

Chassis restoration (in GT Auto), wheels, paint, oil change, and car wash are not performance modifications.

Though some might want to argue that the Passionate Pink paint chip should be considered a performance modification simply because it may have the effect of distracting opponents on track. :sly:

And if you really want to get persnickety about OEM or whatever... perhaps you should only choose a paint colour that is/was actually available on the particular car. ;)
