I debated with myself on whether or not this had been done before. 'Search' didn't turn up much so I went for it.

So, have you ever shared a few words with your car(s)?

I have, well it's not my car actually, it's more like the family's car, but I occasionally do mention a few things to it nonetheless.
I share in its pain when a new severe scratch or dent is on it, or tell it when I "for sure" will give it a nice wash and polish (though I rarely concur with my words as I forget to or something comes up on the day :O ) just things like those. I wouldn't discuss politics with it for God's sake.

There is of course a thin line separating lunacy from passion (Passion for your car, or all cars for that matter) Last I checked, I have passion.
I don't see anything particularly wrong with talking to a vehicle. In fact, it's actually said to relieve stress while being stuck in traffic or other similar situations.
Just remember: It's when the car starts talking back that you should worry. :odd: :D

No, I don't. I've never talked to any of my cars.

However, I talk to myself all the time when I'm at work. It makes the time go by faster when I'm having a conversation with myself.:odd: Weird.

ive never thought of it. i respect and value my car in the greatest. a friend just put a crack in the windshield (grrrrr, $1000 to replace!), i would just ioen the garage door and look at it, appoligizing almost, crying almost!! but i dont speak to it, as in verbal.

thats wierd!! my car doesnt speak english, or any other language, it just commmunicates. it understands what i think, and i understand what it feels. maybe a jedi type of thing, i dont know. im a little drunk.

Ive spoken to each of my cars by name. Unfortunately, I dont have a name for my newest car, and it will probably stay that way. I just refer to it like it knows that Im speaking to it.

Yip, i do. Usually along the lines of "****ing Bastard Piece of ****", whenever I get the shifter stuck in the gate whilst trying to change to quickly.

Incidentally, my car is called Carmella. My previous one was called Sherry.

Umm.. I don't go as far as naming my stuff. Yes, occasionally I'll talk to my car, mostly referring to it as a "Piece of ****" or saying if you don't... I'll give you a nice washing this weekend. I talk to my computer even more and frequently think about having an "Office Space" moment with it, if you know what I mean.

For some reason I can also sense moods in my car at times too. Sometimes it starts up relatively fast and doesn't smoke and runs fine other times it's like a person when they just don't want to wake up in the morning. I can feel it lag when I step on the gas pedal. It's not because I don't take care of my car either. I don't know why but toward the end of the span of it's ownership to me all the cars I've owned so far smoke only when I start up the first time. They've been used cars so far anyway.

Mike's Brain : Boy o' Boy. Cant wait to log onto GTP
Dell : Page cannot be found
Mike: Die! Die! Die!.......Oh yea. Lousy Lan Cable. *plugs it in*
Mike's Brain: Dell - 1 Mike - 0
Mike: Shutup!
Mike's Boss: Um Mike, can I see you in my office?
Mike's Brain: HaHa. Psych!

I usually give it word of encouragement like "C'mon you can do it!" and when I get the down change into a lower gear I'll give it an enthusiastic "Thats the story!"

But apart from that, nothing.

 👍 Just like a Simpsons episode there.

Yup, I do and I am not ashamed by it. Especially after beating the crap of other poseur drivers at the street, I alway thanking my car for a great teamwork that we have together. Eerily, my car is 99% stock (just a Type-R clutch and a K&N stock air filter) and as if my car is getting faster little by little!

Odd, but good.

92 GSR? isnt that pretty rare?

i dont talk to my car but i make sounds like vrooom because i cant hear the engine. :p

Never. Should I?

92 GSR? isnt that pretty rare?

A little. It was only produced in 1992 and 1993 before being re-designed, like the rest of the car, in 1994, when it became much more popular. It only had 20bhp more than a 1992-1993 RS, LS, or GS Integra, so it isn't really that fast stock.

I sometimes do, but I don't put down my 323.

Sometimes it'll do something strange like if I go flat out in 1st then let off a little it'll upshift then downshift, then upshift, making a growling sound and I'll be like "Don't do that! You aren't gonna keep doing that! Not here, not now."
Several days ago, it was pretty damn cold. I tried to start the 3 and it turned over several times making this "put put put poff" sound and I stopped cranking and just sat there and said "I know it's cold, but I have to get to school. If you can start up then we'll both be happy" Cranked it again and it started right up.
Also one time when I was doing a flat out 1 wheel burn out in the rain around a corner, I temporarily messed up the differencial causing the 3 to turn under acceleration right after the burnout, and I was like "Ohh god! I'm so sorry!! Please stop turning! I didn't mean to hurt you like that. Everything will be ok if you stop turning now, and we can just forget that this ever happened" A few secs later, it stopped turning.
And sometimes I'll get caught by a red light and have to slam on the brakes, but the 3 always stops very well, even in wet weather, without ABS. One time I should have just gone through, but I didn't want to get in an accident, so I slammed on the brakes, the 3 locked the passenger rear, but came to a brilliant stop before the line, I was doing like 45 and stopped in a very short distance. I was proud of the 3 and said something like "That was awsome. You just made my day, '3. Keep up the good work".

heh.

But I only talk to the 3 when I'm driving solo.

My bro talks to his cars every so often. Since he messes with his cars, usually resulting in a problem or something not working, he's usually like "God damn it!! What the hell!!! Why won't you work!!!!" Or "What the hell is that light on for?! That thing's working you piece of crap".

yup.

I talk to my car all the time... Generally a "well done" every now and then.

My dad named all of his cars "Agatha", which is confusing when you consider that over the years he's owned 42 cars.

Not usually a verbal thing but every now and then it get the "ahhhhhhhh YEAH" or "come on now"

I let it know in my mind that its going to be getting a good wash and that I'm trying to save up for parts.

I talk to my comp if I get frustrated, and although I dont have a car yet, I can guarantee you that I will talk to it. It's just something I do for some reason (I can easily carry out a conversation all in my head).

I'm the exact same way. :D I'll talk to everything, including other peoples car. I've recently had a conversation with my computer mouse..it wasn't working, so I talked to it, and it worked beautifully. I talk to everything as if it was my best friend, includinmg cars. :)

Yes it was a pretty rare car, in fact I only saw 2 for the past 3 years (excluding my car).

As far as I know they are pretty rare...... Another reason along side the fact that they only had 20hp more than the other models was that Acura did something very odd. For the GSR they're "higher end/sporty car" they put a smaller displacement motor in the engine bay. Some ppl disliked not having the same amount of torque lower in the powerband. Very nice cars though IMO.

Its almost on par with the DC2 Type-R 96-spec. But sorry if I worshiped my car too much.

Rarity wise or?

Performance? Well...both.

I'm not talking about the later '98 spec that we have here in the US.

Yes I do like "speed up and run like hell you ****in piece of s**t" or "why can´t you rev up higher stupid bi*ch move your a**"

unfortunatly i never listens to me *sigh*

then I tried "If you speed up to 180 km/h daddy might buy you a nice little turbo" but it doesn´t work either - seems like "she" won´t forgive me since I complained about "her" so rudely

people, be warned, stay nice to your car

Bulfi

Yes, I talk to my car (and call it "baby") ...yes, I am nuts :scared:

Usually I do this in a position when I know I'm pushing the limits of the car...something like "C'mon, baby, do this for me..."

I try not to do this when there are other people in the car ;)

I don't talk to my car but I talk to my parent's cars, for instance my Mum's Mercedes-Benz C180K Coupe I call 'Benzo' (Yep, that's right, my name is from a car :O) and my Dad's Mondeo estate I call 'Monty' I miss talking to 'Penny' (Mum's old citroen pluriel)

Oh, Benzo's outside now, I should say hi Hi Benzo! :waves:
