You guys do realize that my REAL life friend and driving buddy finished 8th in his region whilst using s DS3.
Then again, the next best person who used a DS3 came in like 800 hundredth or something like that.

Just wait until he gets in a REAL car, then he can kick each and every single one of your guys asses.
Only problem is that he's breaking the GTA rules because he's a real professional race car driver. He was in the F2000 series last year as a driver coach/driver.
He finished on the podium in nearly every race he drove in.
Wow I went off topic. :D

Does he have a real name or is he "imaginary"?

Wait... isn't GTacademy competing to drive a real car?? Controllers aren't steering wheels, I doubt they would let a controller player near a race-prepared 370z with no prior 'steering wheel' racing experience.

I'm an aggressive driver and I scrape walls and do illegal shortcuts.

So you are a cheat?

One of these cheats that don't brake at the caroussel and scrape around the outside to be a little bit faster ...

And one of those who cuts the last corner at the Nurburgring GP to gain a place ...

An aggressive driver is someone who bounces off of the curbs and makes very very adventurous overtaking manouvers, your not an aggressive driver, you're a cheat.

The real issue between the DS3 and the wheel has nothing to do with steering. It has to do with acceleration and braking. I myself have better control over the gas with the x button vs the R2 button. However neither of those can compare to a pedal.Take the x button for an example. It travels about an 1/8 of an inch VS a pedal which travels 3-5 inches. The linear curve of the gas is much easier to control over "inches" VS 1/8 of an inch. People making better times with a wheel has nothing to do with the wheel and everything to do with the pedals.Just the pedals..........

👍

but what if you shift too fast and your g27 leaves your in neutral bouncing off the rev limiter.. FML.

it wasn't fair to have controllers compete against steering wheel's they have more control getting in the corners and get out of them not to say anything about the shifting , gas ,and brake. the GT Academy wasn't even close to being fair to everyone. They should have had two different classes one for controllers and one for steering wheel's. But I bet they don't try to right this wrong.... Yours truly the one the only the dirtman1232

if you look at the time trial times #1 is a controller....every week at least 30% of top 10 are controllers...and giving the fact that most use wheels thats alot!!!!! im faster with a controller except on indy & nascar tracks....the rest controller hands down

So 70% of the top times are done with wheels? Looks like good evidence for the wheel being superior. You think most of the people who have bought GT5 are using racing wheels? I would totally disagree.

Of all the tracks, I would personally think the Nascar races would be easiest to do on a controller. I guess we have backward methods...

I know GT5 isn't the perfect simulator, but if the controller were such a superior steering method then cars wouldn't even come with steering wheels anymore.
