Do you think we'll be able to create Hybrids in GT4 using .ini files and so forth?

Do you think it will be possible now that the user's profile garage is not stored on the memory card, of course programs like Action Replay and Xploder will be able to create hybrids but will there be any way to back up game saves onto computers to muck around with the cars as we did in GT3 and GTC?

Personally, from what I currently know, there are no files in a GT4P gamesave that contain any car information, therefore on GT4 im not that confident in saying that we'll be able to see our garage.

What do you think?

If this is true (the fact that the garage profile is no longer stored on the memory card) then how are you able to transfer your game to other PS2's, or whatever? I surely hope this is not so...

It was said somewhere that GT4:P contained no information about cars on the gamesaves, I also thought this sounded weird so I backed-up a save to my pc and I can comfirm that it does have a few cars mentioned in code such as:

etc.

So, maybe GT4 will do. Is MK's or whoever he 'really' is going to be around to make a new version of GT3gEdit?

So if the garage contains no info on the cars, what happens to the modifcations to the vehicles? There is no resident/permanent memory like Xbox on the actual console. There has to be otherwise, we would be constantly redoing the mods to the car everytime you play...

Exactly. I have never played Prologue, so maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong (which I probably am) but I do not think you can modify the cars in Prologue, therefore it is not necessary to store very much car information on the memory card itself. However, the full game, I would think, should be much different, as you will be doing many things to the cars, necessitating the need to store that data, just like GT3.

I have seen somewhere that GT4P CAN be edited to make hybrids. I saw a video of an Impreza WRX with HUGE TIRES at Grand Canyon and when I say huge I mean they were so big around that they almost touched. In real life they would have been 80" tires. I thought I saw those things on this site a while back so im sure someone has done it.

Yes, but I'm 100% sure that wasn't done using an .ini file or similar to make the hybrid. Yes AR and GS will be able to create them. I suppose it's all down to MK to make another garage editor for GT4.

Does anyone know where those videos are of the Impreza and the other hybrids from GT4P? I haven't seen them in many months and im sure a lot of the members here would appreciate those videos.

T/y for the link that is perfect. Those huge tires are always worth a great laugh. That pretty much proves we should not have a problem with hybrids in GT4. 👍
Here is the link for those that couldnt get it to work Hybrids in GT4 prologue

ahahaha...dude...that kicks ass, but shouldnt we start building up a new editor instead of relying on mk....i mean look at the magic he gave us already...shouldnt we try to follow in his footsteps...i mean, i dont think anyone's heard from him for a long time

Nope, latest version is v38. He has said on gtx that he will see if it is possible to make another garage editor, but he isn't sure yet until he gets his hands on a PAL copy when it is released and starts playing around with files.

agh!!!its still a month or so before GT4 gets released...soo long...and not to mention, we will probaly have to wait for someone to develop an editor

Patience, grasshopper. As posted already, mk is fully intending on developing a GT4 version of the GaragEdit program...as soon as he gets the game.

It's my understanding that Arwin, from GTTimes, is also looking at this...as soon as he gets the game.
