I've had the Ford Mark IV for a while and never drove it. Then I recently got the 330 p4. Took it for a drive and was shocked at how bad it handled high speed turns(me oversteering). Did I just waste 20 million? So I hope the Ford was not the same but it kinda was, not as bad though. So I decided to give them a fair shot.

I did the same thing to both cars new:
1 oil change no more break in
Full aero
Race soft tires

Ford Mark IV
4 speed
600pp

Ferrari 330 p4
5 speed trans
463 hp
594pp

The Ford was more stable at high speed coming to a low speed corner. Although the Ferrari was looser into the corners it manage a quicker lap.

The test was done on Tokyo in the supercar festival with no aids but abs-1.

If your spending the money, you have to decide loose/faster or stable/slower. Now these cars are not tuned so those results could make either car have an advantage. And really these cars are there for nostalgia. Neither are faster than any Lmp car. So if your spending the Cr on one. Thats what there good for nostalgia. This is only my opinion though.

Do you have a save data prior to buying that car ? if so , reload that data , get your Cr's back and go trade for a 67' ticket , you'll get the p300 from that in no time , I have both cars too and tbh never drive them , they're purely for show ;)

Damn Alex

You beat me too it, the minute I knew about tickets I made a '67. I love those cars myself, but I don't need to win every race i run. Especially since I saved so many credits making them. Makes me feel like a car manufacturer. ::):

LOL!
I bought them to have. With the seasonals I've been to 20 mill more than a couple times.
Gotten the x2010 in pink
F 2007
Gt40 @ 19 mill used. ( wife and kids bought while I went to the store)
2D used
330 p4
And Mark Iv
plus the last two OCD's complete and a few here and there.
Got the last 20 mill car so I can keep playing and breaking in cars on the tripled payout seasonals. After the test and 3 runs on la sarthe im back to 4.2 million.

I hope you have a 2nd account , I have all my tickets in my 2nd account and send to my main as required . You know the drill I take it . Get the ticket : save to USB : send to main : reload USB data in the 2nd account : your ticket is still there , happy days :)

Wow lol, good luck :)

You know after they got that one. It was in the OCD new, half price the next week! That one wasn't cool! Plus you win it! Palm in face.

You should save your game to a USB stick before going to the store :)

Have them both and never get a chance to drive them as I do the seasonals exclusively now. hoping for a historic seasonal soon!! :)

Added ballast up front till they were 50/50 weight.
Why? That makes the comparison pointless. Compare them both stock. Adding an amount of weight to an arbitary position is bound to make them handle differently than intended.

Both are great. Definitely must haves in every garage. GT40 at 19m is funny. But yeah, with the seasonals 20m is a breeze :) 👍

The weight balance made tons of difference to both keeping the front end in check.

Ford Mark IV
4 speed trans.
516hp
1129kg (with added 129kg)
600pp

Ferrari 330 p4
5 speed trans
463 hp
863kg (with added 71kg)
594pp

You killed the cars there.

They are old, wild, twitchy, stiff, and that's what make them fun:

The P4 with racing softs is just beautiful! Worth every credit it cost! Like a wild beast that you have to tame...

You forgot to compare sounds. And for this I'll include the XJ13 as well.

The 330P4 sounds like a vacuum cleaner. The XJ13 sounds like an electrical device breaking down. The Mark IV sounds like pure porn, no matter where you put the revs, plus the 4 speed tranny makes it project the sound better. :D My $0.02.

But when you do test the two of them, keep them stock. Because that makes a vaild comparison.

Exactly, don't try to get these cars to handle like modern racecars but adopt your driving style and expectations to these cars.
I only drive these machines (330 P4, XJ13 and Mark IV) on racing hard tyres (even online) and the only thing I changed were some slight adjustments to the suspension and after breaking them in, I slightly increased the topspeed so I didn't hit the rev limiter on the long straights at La Sarthe.
They're incredible fun and both the 330 P4 and XJ13 handle great, the Mark IV requires a bit more attention in slow corners though, otherwise it's equally great in my opinion.

I agree with what some users said. When im racing online with friends, i rarely use them. It's not easy to beat those NSX's and Supra's.....but when i drive them it feels different. I drive them just to drive them, not win
They worth the 20 mil, and if there is a Historic Race going down, im always there 👍

As far as the sounds are concerned, i'd definately go for the Ford Mark IV first. Gives me the chills every time i listen to that monster roar..... :scared:

Nice run dark_ruffo. How heavy of a lsd and suspension tune did you use. It no way handles like that the way PD put it on. So if you guys change anything on the car at all (suspen. Lsd etc.)it safe to say YOU ruined it too? No don't think so. The way Pd put it on the game is not the way it raced on the track. Do you agree?

I had a hard time with the p4 so I balanced it. I wanted to compare it to the ford. But because I balanced the p4, I thought it was only fair to do the same to the mark IV.

Ill give them another go stock after they're broke in. With no weight.

Thanks for everyones input!

Stock car, stock settings, stock racing hard tires. From the dealership straight to the ring with no tuning. And knowing myself, If I tune it, it could only be for worst :dunce:

Gentle throttle input replaces any LSD tuning.

After i checked out the video at home (not on my phone). I felt like damn do i suck that bad! (kinda but usually place under top 1000 everytime in time trials, even at the end of the trials after a week , no cheating)

So I reset the p4 and took it on Nurburg and the car handled that track much better than Tokyo and eifel (this was the worst) on supercar festival.

Why? Is it that the rpm' s stay higher between transitions on this track. I didn't really have the problem on the ring as I did on the others. Like the extra rpm's keep it stable and from sliddng. Just had to make sure to brake in a straight line.

Thanks for posting the video dark!

I have the jag too but it was already broke in. So maybe ill get to others up there and compare the three on nurburg. I really like the jag.

I have the P4 and like it a lot. I don't have the Ford yet but I will get the car sometime.

P4 is a lot of fun. Not every car is going to hug the corners and have torque out their butts. This is a vintage racer from quite some time ago so it isn't fair to even compare them to modern cars.

use sports soft on both of them
that is more similar to the type of race tire they had back then
i love and have all the classic premium cars
