The Dodge Power Wagon is a pickup truck built by Dodge from 1945 until 1981. The original models (1945-1981) were based on the Dodge WC military trucks. The Power Wagon was introduced in 1946 as the first civilian 4X4 and was designed to compete with the military based trucks from Ford & GMC. There were several models introduced from the basic 1.5 tone W100 & W200 trucks up to the top of the line W500 model. The Power Wagon was discontinued in 1981 with the introduction of the Dodge Ram, however the Power Wagon nameplate was used on AWD models of the Ram in 1993.
