Dodge Ram 1500 parts

Hello guys... I am harold brock. Actually I am a Mechanic's apprentice and I am only starting on basics. I don't know much about trucks and vans that's why I was confused when my mentor gave me a project. To upgrade a Dodge ram 1500 and give it the following:

* A nicer sound while driving
* A better design
* Troubleshoot for the things wrong in the car

He intentionally broke some of its parts to give me an exam. I found out that there are broken spark plugs and the tachometer isn't working plus the sound can be changed when I would use a twin exit exhaust. I don't know where to buy the right things for this with the cheapest amount as possible. Any advice that would help will be appreciated.
 
Sounds - Get a glasspack muffler.
Better design - that's tough, but pre-runner fenders would help

Having been in leadership roles I can understand why your mentor gave you that project. I'd say trust the mentor's judgment on this one ;)

Can you be more specific about the details of the Ram? Year? Engine size?
