As .ign is reporting (and some other car-business-related sites), Sony, Polyphony and Toyota made a VERY-SPECIAL-INDEED hardware unit for preseting faboulous Toyota's MTRC Car at Geneva Auto Show.

As the helmet is needed for driving the car, they've assembled some kind of heelmet with wide-view field, toghether with movement-sensible sensors. As you turn your head, the view is turning while playing special version of GT4 Prologue with MTRC.

Is this a gossip or not I don't know - still no pictures or relevant confirmation - but we'll know in few days.

My question is: how much would you be willing to pay for such an device.

Personally, I'd pay up to 900 euros with no problems. SCE, hear my cry! :)

if i could use this helmet during GT4 i would be willing to pay quite alot for it
 
So is this for GT4?
If it is that would be cool, all you would need after that is a cordless controller to play with and you could play it like a gameboy strapped to your head!
 
wouldnt that mean the game would have to have some sort of incar view to make it work the.

it would be a bit stupid for behind or infront views (if you can look around)
 
Yeah, so it's probably just for use with the MRTC, since they probably wouldn't go and make the dashboards and such for every single car in the full GT4 game.

Still would be ace, imagine it with a stearing wheel and the helmet, and being able to look down and see your hands anf feet :) Being able to look over your shoulder in to your blind spot etc, I'm sorry but that would rule imo! How much would I pay? Meh, nothing as what ever it would cost, I wouldn't be able to afford!

They had some info about this at the official GT4 web site, the link is in my signature BTW, a couple of days ago.

Didn't really much care, but I didn't know about the helmet. Seems uncomfortable. I remember a pic of a PD producer with a racing helmet on promoting GT3 way back in the day. Maybe he started this idea rolling.
 
PD should stop toying with these "mini" versions and consentrate on the real thing.
 
With that helmet you can even see better how the AI car doesn't move when it hits you.
