Dodgeball anyone?

My friends and I are always looking for new things to do and someone said DODGEBALL. It turns out they're serious. Sounds like fun. Not that "get in a circle" or "stand in front of the wall" kind of dodgeball, but like dodgeball on the Game Show Network (i.e., the movie). Anyone ever try it themeselves?
 
I've never seen the movie. But in school we play it like this.
We have 2 teams on the basketball court and each team is only aloud on one side. TO get people out you have to hit the opposition with the ball, but if they catch it, you're out. When you go out, you have to stand around the outside of the oppositions half. TO get back in the game, a ball has to be throwen aty the basketball backboard and actully hit it. It isn't real easy to hit the backboard, because the balls we use are really light.
 
Dodge ball was soooooooooo fun in Gym class. We played what we call "conspiracy"

-2 teams on either side of the basketball court. (Cant cross center)
-if ball is caught person who threw it is out
- when a person is hit and does not catch ball they are out
-you get back in the game when the person that hit you, gets hit or has his ball caught.
-occasionaly the teacher would call a "jail break" when someone crosses center, in this case everyone sitting out on the oppisite team comes back in the game.
 
When I was in 5th and 6th grade we used to play dodgeball outside at recess. 2 teams and people just launching the balls like crazy. If you got hit you were out. If it was caugh you were back in but there were sooo many people playing that if you got out you were out for a while. Those were such good times. I saw so many kids get bloody noses or broken fingers, arms, wrists. :lol: I never had any damage besides mabey a few red marks on my stomach or chest from catching the balls.
The game was soo much fun but eventually got banned when some of the kids decided to start throwing frisbies instead of balls. :lol: My favorite sport ever! Sure miss those days.
Oh by the way the movie was a lot more funny than I expected. 👍
 
LMAO That movie was hilarious! I'd be the patches and throw the wrenches at ya! :lol: Anyway, seriously... the show on GSN is also hilarious! The team names... my dad got a kick out of the CPAs because he's one. Anyway, what I wouldn't give to have a dodgeball to peg various things that irritated me. 👍
