Does a router work with AutoModelista?

I was wondering if you can use a router while playing automodelista online. I read on the users manual for A.M. that you cant use a router but I'm still not sure. I tried to set up an account with Auto Modelista online and failed. Its' weird though, cause I tested my connection and I was successful, yet i was unable to set up an account?

I have router connected to my ps2, and it works just fine for me, but I don't have my computer connected to my router at this time, so I don't know if that would make a difference or not.

It wouldn't. It only matters when hosting games, and that can be fixed if you log into your router and forward the port numbers used by the PS2 to host games.

I have a wireless Linksys router on my PC and a wireless Linksys bridge on my PS2 and they work perfectly! I always host games and havent had any problem with lag or anything.

I recommend it for anyone who wants to network their PS2 wirelessly.

Linksys Wireless Access Point Router (model no. BEFW11S4)

Linksys Wireless Ethernet Bridge (model no. WET11)

Also Linksys.com has a bunch of support for networking your PS2 wirelessly.

And when I called SCEA one of their reps said the network adapter had to be hardwired to the cable modem, LOL he must of been a nOOb!

mine isn't only ported it's connected to a 4 port hub as well. the linksys router is in my basement office and the 2nd line is on the 3rd floor of my townhouse providing internet to 2 computers and a PS2 via a linksys hub.
no problems at all. i'm actually online playing wall smashers....er i mean auto modellista right now.
