Having done alot of long AI races, I notice the cars tend to start pitting every lap as they wear the drivers out. This bug usually starts at about 5 hours.
I've driven 1000km of Suzuka and 9 hour Tsukuba myself but haven't really noticed it then (possibly because I tuned down my car to match real world specs), but I've just started a 24hr race. Mostly just to get the trophy. Pathetic, I know, but will they exhibit the same behaviour in A races eventually? Do I need to push hard? Or will the others start doing stupid things at some point?
I'm currently yoyoing between 1st and 2nd as I can go longer with fuel and look after my tyres better, so I could probably make up time for a solid 1st, but I'm already forced to 1/2 drive like it's a sprint race. It's not fun, or in the spirit of a 24hr race. And darkness is coming, it will be much more enjoyable to drive the car to the best of *its* ability rather than my own.
What will the other entrants do?
