I'm thinking about eventually getting one. Perhaps if I ever go to a school with a large campus and stuff. A scooter would've been perfect for me here in high school, but I'm only a few months away from getting the hell out of here, so I won't bother.

So, anyway, if anybody has a motor scooter (like a vespa or something), how do you like it? Have you ever had to ride in the rain? How does that work out?

I like mine, and it works fine in the rain. Brakes arent as good, but that's to be expected. For me its also kind of hard to fold up, but it should be pretty easy for most people.. Oh but don't ride it on grass or anything, because it will not roll. And it WILL hurt if you go straight from pavement to grass quickly enough.

 Let me correct myself: Does anybody own a motor scooter?

Oh, well thank you for that correction.

It's your fault you weren't clear.

I know. I realized that. Snippy, snippy. :p

I would get a Scootiepuff jr. but, you know, it's 1000 years in the making.

Omnis, you weight like 300 pounds. There are big scooters, but still. You might as well get a proper motorcycle.

You should check out the Yamaha dealership, they have some pretty nice scooters for todays American. I believe they even have a 650cc model, which is just retarded, but will get you around in style all the same.

I know, dude. That's why I'm mega iffy about it. But, if I'm using it for little stints and dashes, I might as well use two wheels and scooters and cheap and super fuel efficient. I have no need nor desire to reach the speeds of which proper motorcycles are capable. So, basically, the idea of a scooter is almost ideal. There's a Vespa store near me... When I make enough money this summer I might head over there and see what's up. I'm also in the process of losing weight (12 lbs. so far), so by the time I would be able to own one, my weight will be less of an issue.

I was just curious as to whether there are two-wheelers of any kind here (besides Small_Fryz who rides dirtbikes) and curious about what they have to say.

Actually, there are many scooters that are plenty bog enough to handle your weight and then some. There are scooters that will go a hundred miles per hour and are pretty much the same size as a small cruiser bike. But they're also nearly motorcycle expensive. I also don't know how long thise massive scooters have been around, but I'm sure the dealership can help a lot with your decision. GO talk to them even if you can't afford one now, just to get an idea of what you might want beforehand.

Yeah, they're called Maxi Scooters. I'm not sure I'll need a huge engine if I get one, though. Florida is flat, after all.

We got 2 Vespa's (piaggio's) but not scooters. I'll post some pics later one. It's just perfect to get around cheap.

Ive never ridden a scooter and never plan too. It has no power to get you out of trouble and frankly i belive they are unsafe lol. Why dont you just get a moutain bike?

I have a Piaggio NTT 50cc, like this one:

I like it a lot, used it to go to highschool (even in winter, except when it was snowing)
And I also have a good rainsuit to keep me dry when it's raining :)

Now, I don't know what the edit was, but I can't really imagine Omnis on one of these...

That's exactly what the edit was for.

I think you're confusing GTPlanet with HomosexualWorld.

...Says the Clio driver who supports gay marriage. ;)

I'm beginning to like the idea of a Smart with a Busa engine more, though.

How about a small bike, like a Ninja 250?

No cargo room. I'd at least be able to fit a tissue box in the smart, and scooters have those seat compartments for my backpack.

Here are a few bikes that are bigger then a scooter but smaller then a typical motorcycle. They average 600cc but are opimized for fuel economy. You can test drive them by playing Tourist Trophy.:sly:
