So, does anyone else on GTP have this?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heterochromia

In anatomy, heterochromia refers to a difference in coloration, usually of the iris but also of hair or skin.

My eyes are 2 different colours in 1, so I have central heterochromia, where the outside colour is the true colour of the eye;

How about anyone else? Did you inherit it or is it because of something else? Apparently what I have is quite rare and 'typically found in autosomally inherited disorders such as Hirschsprung's disease and Waardenburg syndrome.'

I have skin that is sort of multi coloured.
its dubbed" Camoflage skin" by my mates
Most my skin is yellow coloured however I have small patches (small as in about 5mmby5mm roughly)

I don't know is that this or is it just wierd coloured skin.

I have very similar eyes - brown in the centre half and bluey-grey in the rest of it - though they're too damn reflective to get a decent photo of it myself

I'll try to get Mrs. Famine to take a snap.

Interesting that you brought this up. Last week I saw an interview of Detroit Tiger pitcher Max Sherzer. Look at this.

My eyes aren't multi-colored, but they're also not completely round:

And you can just make out the edge of my contacts.

Edit: I should probably scale my picture down a touch. Don't want to scare the kids. Done. :P

I personally only have extremely dark irises, just enough to differentiate them from my pupils.

My science teacher, though, has a son whose eyes are separated into pie chunks, about a third of one eye is blue, and the rest is brown.

My eyes are pretty boring, but my girlfriend has one pupil a fair bit larger than the other. Doesn't affect her vision at all (her eyesight is better than mine, that's for sure) but again it's apparently some sort of rare condition.

I actually do believe that I have this... Heterochromia.
My Hazel eyes are quite "burnt orange" between the outer iris and pupil.

Funny Eye Colour Anecdote Time!!
My Science teacher (a while back, when he was teaching in England), was teaching the class about genes, and that if you have blue eyes, then your parents must also have blue eyes as well.
Well, one pupil (student, not eye ) shoved his hand up and asked "Sir, my eyes are brown, but both my parent's eyes are blue."
My Teacher replied, "Well, you must have some gene mutation... or your adopted. Those are the only possibilities."

The pupil went home and had a talk with his parents. The parents were a bit mad after that discussion.

(OK, maybe not that funny, but quite interesting)

It's actually possible for that to work, is it not? I'm going off of a mental punnet square, but I think it'll work.

If the blue eye gene is b, and brown is B, and brown is dominant, isn't it possible for them to have Bb both, and thus have about a 25% chance of having a blue eyed child?

Or, am I mistaken, and Bb would end up hazel?

Yes, and no.

I was wrong. And it was a boy with brown eyes, and blue-eyed parents. My Bad.

But hazel won't work. I asked that and there's no merging of eye colours.
I'll edit the story...

No, I don't have those eyes. Mine are hazel around the center, then they are hazel on the outside. I can still put up a picture if you want.

My father hand incredible green eyes with a touch of blue in them like that. Of course, my mother's brown-eyed genes stomped all over his and I didn't inherit them.

Went to primary school with a guy with different coloured eyes, one dark brown and one green. Freak.

I've seen only an Alaskan Husky with heterochromia.
I think it's common on those dogs.
Anyways, I've never seen a person with that condition.

I know a girl who has heterochromia. Orangey-brown in the middle, greenish towards the outside. She's pretty hot too.

I guess I have it. Orange in the middle with green in the middle and with what seems to be a blue outline on the outside. Three-colored eyes, cool!

My father have had around 30 alaskan huskys and 3 of them had different colored eyes, but i have never seen a person with different colored eyes. So yeah it must be more common on these dogs. My old neigboor Robert Sørlie (who have won iditarod dog race in alaska) had also some dogs with multi colored eyes, and they looked really cool :)

Since we're on the subject of dog's eyes now, one of the dogs I used to have had a half and half eye:

And a half and half nose, but that's for a different thread. :P

That dog looks like its eye is damaged not genectic. Did you have him from birth or did you buy him as a puppy or adult. A teacher of mine a couple of years ago had a dog and it managed to strangle itself on a rope. Luckily he suvived. However since then his right eye allways looked like that.

We got her when she was 6 weeks old and her mom looked the same way. It's very common for a Siberian Husky to have parti-colored eyes.

I oppologise for that then, I don't now much about dogs.
By the way cute dog.

A buddy of mine in school had oval shaped pupils. They angled to the side and stretched all the way out to the edge of the iris. Totally weird.

By my own close examination I seem to have central Heterochromia. My eyes are close to the example on wikipedia but the gold color is a bit brighter inside and I have a bit brighter green eyes.

Wow, my eyes are more or less exactly like Moglet's.
Perhaps a touch blueier around the outside and a smidgen more yellowyish in the middle, but you get the picture.
Ok, so you don't. :guilty:
I'll take one, somehow, even if it means getting itgirlxx to do it and post it up later...

Not great, but it'll do...
