Iv'e bought the Suzuki escudo 3 times because of trading, mainly because i always want that car, it accelerates FAST and is easy to slide around Monaco(which i have to say is fun) but does anyone else think so???

ok for one, learn how to copy send :) saves you a lot of money. I think its ok, great for drag races but i hardly use it for actual racing.

Very fast acceleration, yes, but it's handling isn't the best and it's not that good in the top speed department either. So it's good for drag races...and that's it.

It's also good for rally, which is what it was really meant to be used for.

I don't quite understand why people have complaints about this car and they're not even using it for its intended purpose.

So why does it appear in like the wind ?
But yes it should be rallied.

It appears in In The Wind because there arent enough real race cars to fill out a field of 16 marginally current cars. Same reason you re racing against 45 year old cars that were banned from race tracks way back in the day. And ancient Japanese race cars built in the 1960s...The Escudo being one of those cars....

There's nothing wrong with the handling. It probably handles far better in game than in reality. You can pretty much use the Escudo to race LMP cars.

Are you asking why a car in GRAN TURISMO is not racing in its category ?
Lol.
The only purpose of the Escudo Pikes Peak is racing in the Unlimited category in Pikes Peak

Exactly what the hell is it doing competing on the Indy curcuit, as you state it was purpose built for the record attemt on pikes peak.

5:44.725 lap time around the ring speaks for itself.
Faster than Toyota 7, CLK-GTR, ZR1 RM etc.

I love the powerband on the car, under 6k rpm absolutely nothing happens but after that it goes like nothing else.

You can use the ESCUDO to run away from opponents, but making it fly off a custom map with a huge jump is even funner :P

The Escudo first appeared in GT2, when there was a Pike's Peak Hill Climb course in the game. Since then it has remained because of its unique and exciting nature. I for one never want to see another Gran Turismo without the Escudo.

I remember in GT3 or in GT4, that you can tune it so that during high speed, the front of the car goes up in the air. I haven't tried it in GT5.

I hated it with all my possible willpower back in GT2 and GT4, didn't try it in GT5 yet.

Although I reckon it did make for some quite good blasts around the nordschleife, though.

The thing is an absolute fricken BEAST... have any of you seen the video on youtube? Look it up! I think it's the perfect engineering.... But it's not my favourite car... And i wouldnt want to own one.... It did have fame since gt2 but i think its fame Declined in gt4 specifically.. Then juat kept dropping in gt5.. Still a stunning car none the less...

As long as you keep the rev's up it's a very fun car. On a track sending more power to the rear makes it handle much better, (though IMO it's not too bad to begin with). It's a good car for tight circuits as it can put it's power down easily, but on larger tracks it's low top speed and turbo lag means it's not very good.

Excellent car.

Because Gran Turismo 5 is a video game so PD can put the Escudo wherever they want it.

NFSCARBON1

in which case, a mid-range turbo, near min. downforce & full custom tranny would do the trick.

I bought one today! Beast of a car. Went straight to the Nurburgring with it to do some laps, and the grip and acceleration of the thing is amazing! Disappointing top end speed though tbh, but with that parachute on the back, its hardly surprising really is it :)

Dead easy to drive as well imo, rides the curbs easy and is super quick, beats some of my LMP's round the ring too

I love the escudo. It's just mental. I remember you could tune to 1000+ bhp in older versions.

I also loved the pikes peak course.... So many hairpins. :)

There was another pikes peak special in the game as well, i think it was blue/ purple (but could be wrong) with slightly less power but still nice. I forget the name though.

Edit. Just looked it up. It was the cultus pikes peak, came with 760+bhp and was heavier than the escudo.

It's not a car for Le Mans admittedly, but on the Nurburgring it is my quickest car in GT5 and was in the PSP version too.

What it lacks on the few very long straights in top end speed it more than makes up on Group C cars through the tighter sections.

Both suzukis were Ultimate rally cars and very fast on tarmac too...
