I was having a Honda disscussion in another forum that I visit and it got me thinking about my goofy dad and his '89 Honda CRX. he bought it for my mom back in I want to say 1993(?) because she needed a car for her commute to school (fininshing up her nursing degree.) It had like 60k miles on it. Well now its what, 12 years later and the thing is still ticking away with 280k on the odometer. The engine has never been opened. It has busted a timing belt at 80mph causing no damage, my mom put it through a ditch a couple weeks ago so me and my dad had to go pick up the front end and move it out, it's been through 3 sets of wheels, and we had to put a clutch in it at 260k. Yet the thing still runs and everything works (except the a/c which stopped this past summer). He drives it to work every day and it gets 40mpg consistently. He's never missed an oil change or any routine work. My dad always tells people that he would get in it and drive to Florida tomorrow and not hesitate(I would be with him riding shotgun). This car just amazes me time after time. I was just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiances with amazing cars?
