Between 2nd Lesmo and Ascari , on the right hand side , there is an old building . It's quite detailed and interesting looking . Does anyone have any information about it ? Does it have any historic significance ? I just noticed it during the movie Grand Prix and went on to find it on GT5 . Cheers

"Along with the lush grass and flowers, by Curva Del Serraglio is a small, chapel-like building, proudly displaying the Milanese House Of Visconti symbol of a child-devouring snake – part of the Alfa Romeo badge of course.*But it’s actually what remains of a zoo, created in the build-up to WW2 when animals were evacuated from Milan’s central zoo." -Jonathan Moore

It was in the movie Grand Prix. XP

What are Lesmo and Ascari? The two tight right hand turns after the second chicken?

The Lesmos are the two right hand turns after the chicane, Ascari is the chicane after that.

O okay, so the backstraight which goes under the bridge from the old track?

Wutudidthar, Icit

Is it that creepy old Mansion behind everything? You can only glitch out of the track to see it.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any information about it. The spectator area in front of it I think is put up during a big event. You can actually see them in the process of putting it up on google maps. For anybody else looking for the exact position behind the spectators here is a better pic showing it relative to the spectators and track. It's easier to spot doing the track in reverse I think.

The article is a solid read for any F1 fan or petrol-heads in general. I surely didn't expect a zoo from WW2.

There's a huge pool behind the stands to, is that in GT5?

I've never seen a building there just the bridge. Got to pay more attention.

Off: It would be great to drive around in the old Monza oval.

I don't know anything about the pool but the classic, combined circuit would be amazing to experience within Gran Turismo. This being the GP weekend I'll be running lots of laps around the modern track and dreaming of the old banking. There's nothing like a race engine screaming through the forest.
