The GT4 demo at the Sony Gamers Day03 this past week used the GT4 engine instead of the GTC engine like at E3 and the past game conventions. I want to see how the new engine looks in graphics but I saw afew new shots(came out this past week, I think everyone saw them) and Isaw a guy filming the exhaust from a yellow skyline. Looks like gt4 has a new feature but I hope they have back fire animations for the real racers, like the LMP, LM, GT, etc. That would be cool and add to the realism of GT4.

Things like abit better.
 
even if they did use the gtc engine the graphics would still be really good.

True because those vids from the PSM were just amazing and looked very realistic but I don't think the new engine will have a huge leap in graphics compared to the GTC engine but will look better and more realistic.
 
yea they cant push much more out of the ps2. sadly i think this will be the last gt game on the ps2.:(
 
Well that's not true, according to PD they haven't even reached the ps2's limits, checkout the gamespot article and you'll see there's more room for improvement. The new has the pitcrew animations, the animated crowds, and other cool features. I hope gt4 at the TGS this coming week has the new engine.

Graphically, Gran Turismo 4 appears to be making some strong improvements over its predecessor. But the team was quick to state that the improvements come from heightened skills on their part and that the limits of the PlayStation 2 hardware still have not been reached.

Looks like PD can't max the ps2 but who cares, gt4 will be the best looking game coming.
 
Thanks for the vid's. I think the main graphical changes from GTC and GT4 will be in small effects, KY has said he wants to include as many little effects such as a car backfiring as possible.
 
Oh and the guy driving in that second video is crap at GT, honestly he lost control loads of times.
 
His driving was just sad but he started off ok, he drifted around the first turn very good.
 
I think the car models have improved a bit aswell, check this shot out of gt4 using the gtc engine

And this new one, I think it's using the new engine because the car looks more realistic but to tell you the truth I hardly see a difference in this pic and the one above

That's from a replay at the game convention this past week but I wonder why they haven't gave us any vids of gt4 besides the 2 ingame vids.
 
I lub GT. The graphics engine is updated now, it will look like the bottom sube.
