I see about a billion posts where people say "Dude, you gotta tune your car if you want it to perform and get mad crazy speed and handling! Bling Bling!"
but no one can get anyone started on the right path.
I have no idea what camber does, or what kind of increments I should be raising/lowering my front/rear ride height. Does anyone have a beginner's guide or a web-page that explains these things?
And I'm aware that the old addage of "try it and see what happens" applies, but there are tons of settings (or so I would assume) that won't do anything by themselves. Perhaps changing your ride height by 5 mm doesn't do anything, and perhaps making your shocks stiffer (is a higher number stiffer? I'm not sure) by 1 point doesn't do much, but then if you lower it, AND make them stiffer they work great together. I don't have the time, or desire, to muck around with details that I don't understand when I could at least be racing.
However, if I knew what I was doing, I would definitely spend hours touching up my car to get it just right....
So, anyone who knows what they're doing got any good references for those of us who want to learn? Or does no one know and you just tell the rest of us to 'tune our cars' while you're playing away with your game shark?
