I'm going to sound like a complete noob for asking this, but does everyone else have to hit refresh to view new posts? I didn't used to realise, and was always answering posts five minutes late, i don't do that now though.

Any time i navigate via a link on the forum then it takes me to a fresh page, but if I use the forward and back buttons it does not refresh. Threads I have read will still be marked as unread, and new posts dont show untill I refresh manualy.

I just keep clicking the "new posts" button, rather than clicking the refresh button. It's the same thing though. To answer your question, yes we all do.

It depends on how you access the page. If you get to the page using your forward or back buttons, it will probably be a "cached" copy of the page. This usually isn't a problem, but when you are dealing with forum pages updated every minute, it will look like the new posts aren't showing up (until you hit refresh, of course, which will get the latest copy of the page). If you navigate to the thread by clicking on a link, it should be the latest version. It all depends on your browser setting, ultimately.

I always refresh. Sometimes i sit on the same page for an hour or more, refreshing every now and then to see any new posts.

Exactly what I do as well.
