Does Forza 6 have any installation before you actually play the game?

My Brother and I got our Xbox ONE today, sadly I am not picking up Forza 6 until later on.

We went through all the intros and then my Brother was ready to play NBA 2K16 and FIFA 16 but apparently those games (even though NBA 2K16 is a disc) require an installation before playing.

I'm kinda scared that Forza 6 is the same and how much data needs to be installed since our internet is really slow and we have to wait 12 Hours to Install those 2 other games which are 60 GB.
 
I'm afraid you're out of luck as Forza 6 requires a forty four gigabyte installation before you can play the game.
 
2Gb day one patch I think. I personally think thats not a big deal these days. I bought Rare Replay same day and I think thats like 6 or 8Gb?
 
Both the Xbox One and PS4 require all games to be installed on the hard drive weather they are on a disc or not, if you have the disc that will make the install quicker since it installs from the disc but as said there is a day one patch that will need to be downloaded regardless. There will be another patch sometime on Tuesday as well for the DLC and some fixes for the game, it should be small but it's worth knowing about if you get the game after Tuesday both patches will be applied at the same time.

I don't know for sure but I think when I got Halo on disc the patch started downloading while the disc was installing. That should save some time, plus even while downloading/ installing you can play at around 12-20% you won't have all the cars and tracks but it might be enough to hold you over for a while.
 
It does not have to be fully installed before you can play. I got the digital version and I think it downloaded to about 10-12% and then said it was ready to start. At that point you can play it and run the first race while it continues to install in the background. I think it was about 30 minutes from the time I began the install until I was able to start the game and begin racing. Should be faster from disc
