I'm trying desperately to get someone's attention that can help to address an issue I have with having deleted my GTA Reward Car issued last week, the Nissan GT-R Black Edition Tuned Car (GT Academy) '12...

Because of this I have started a Twitter and FaceBook account...I already use the PSN GT5 forum and last week I started using this GT Planet forum. I hope that 'Kaz" has people that can help translate his Tweets as I have now begun to 'Tweet' him in an effort to get some sort of resolution to my problem...FaceBook may be a dead end however, I'll have to investigate further to see if 'Kaz' or any related GT5 FaceBook pages exist...

It would be nice to see the Academy Reward Cars become more of a permanant fixture and not so easily deleted as they are now, I worked to hard get them in the first place and now I'm working hard again trying to get back what I've lost...At the very least, I feel that if you have earned the car(s) to begin with they should have automaticly been installed into the Nissan New Car Dealership so they would be with us forever!

It could be that they already have something in the works, prizes will be given out until Jan 25th...

but seriously, Have you ever heard of a backup of your GT5 file?
There is a backup file on your Playstation 3
and you should make a backup on USB memory so now and then.
then you didn't have this issue.

I'm glad you got a laugh but seriously, I do have everything backed up on a second PS3 system, however that would not have helped as the reward cars are gone as soon as you accept them which as I stated I had, they don't come back just by restoring, not like other items and cars...So word to the wise, don't screw up like I did...Also, I'm on disability and currently taking 6,100 mgs of pain killers a day just to tolerate the pain in my neck and back, mix that together with a severe diabetic reaction I go through every year or two from a steroid injection directly into my spine at the neck and lower back and yes, it is easy to get in a hurry and screw things up, the point I'm trying to make is that it shouldn't be permanent if you do screw up...You should have some way to retrieve the car(s) you worked for...
 
I use the backup system to "clone" cars, I tune cars for my PSN friends, save the file externally, give them the car, then delete and reload my save, they get the car and I keep the car,
 
I'm sure kaz has nothing better to do with his time than help people with deleted cars.

I do that as well mostly because of the severe trading restriction put on us...1 car tradeable per day per console...Doesn't help if you have more than 1 person on that single console because you'll have to take turns every day as to who gets to send on any particular day...This method does not work wth GTA reward cars, you cannot gift them out, if we could this would be a non-issue and I wouldn't be here now as there are 8 accounts on my console of which 7 still have this car...I could share the car from one of the other accounts but then I still would not be able to race online with the car nor go to any of the photo areas with a 'borrowed car'...Also, I would be unable to paint the car in my own choice of color...

ZZz. If you get first at the Olympics. (yaaaay) and then somehow manage to drop your gold medal into acid and disintegrate it (oh noooo) you sir do not deserve the medal

Accidents have nothing to do with deserving something in this case!
I remember Muhammad Ali dropped his Gold medal into a river once, but since he deserved it, he got a new one from the IOC.

It's not about caring, it's about getting a car back that you did erase. There is little chance that you get it back, stop caring (it takes too much time for nothing probably), just borrow it from someone.
Oh and by the way, in GT5, if there is a gift in your post, and you load your (backupped game) and recive the gift, if you load the backup from before, there is a high chance that the gift is still available. This is so with normal gifts from any other player...! (correct me if Im wrong)

Thanks for the help there and your right about the normal operation, however with the GTA Reward Cars once you've accepted them that's it, they don't come back, I tried first with my flashdrive backup then on my other console, no dice...

I believe in being careful. Without the existence of money there would be no need for insurance, quite ironic.

I don't think PD reads this forum. It's one of those things that sound too good to be true. Would save them some time though with planning. They could just cherry pick tracks, cars and ideas from the wishlists here. If you can't sort out the license, meh no problem there still would be a lot of alternatives that would make the community happy.

Back to topic, I thought if you have a backup the Academy cars are restored too. I wouldn't test this myself, but if someone already had the misfortune of losing one of them I'd like to hear whether they could or could not restore them via a backup.
 
Only certain thing is Turn10 browses this forum, or somehow has the same taste as we do and in the exact same order

The cars come back when you do a save file restore, not the tickets though. If you he has a save file where he didn't accept the tickets yet, he wont get them back, he would only get them back if he already accepted the cars and have them in his garage.

To the OP, how many threads of these do you need to make?? I felt sorry for you in your first thread, now you're on your 4th of the same thing. I not only don't feel bad for you anymore, I'm starting to think you want people to pity you! How many times do you need to mention your medical condition? We get it, you have issues, maybe you shouldn't be playing your games when your doped up on meds? Sounds like you can't handle it then look for excuses when you mess something up.

My advice, be more aware of what you're doing! I don't mean to sound mean, but I hate when people use illness to mislead people into feeling sorry for them.

As for wanting the cars showing up in the dealership, that will never happen! You can already buy most of those cars, they're not going to give it away for free again, you gotta pay this time.

You obviously don't know how reward systems work, you redeem a reward and its done! Where in GT5 have you ever been rewarded twice for something? Never! You win it once, unless you dupe it, you only get one! Same way real life works, you use your aeromiles, you don't get them back, they're gone! You win an award, it's done, it doesn't get re-issued! If rewards are something you take pride in, you don't let foolish things happen to it, you hold on to it with your life.
 
I was thinking the same thing in the number of posts you have made about this and in each one, you don't hesitate to mention your disability. You see, I too am disabled and take a ton of meds and have been going through physical therepy for almost a year now, but I don't mention it in every post I make. There is no need to keep playing the sympathy card. As for your lost car, sorry you lost it but unfortunately as of right now, there is no way of getting them back no matter how many threads you make about it. Having said all this, I wish you better health and hope things get better for you. You just need to ease up on these duplicate posts. Take care.
 
I think a major stumbling block here is how did you actually delete it?

I don't really understand how you could have physically selected the delete button for the car completely by accident.

I could, however, imagine some situation where you received the car then loaded an earlier save or something, so it didn't transfer, which I could perceive as more of a mistake.

He didn't hit the delete button. It happened some other way that can be seen as a glitch.



The OP only made two separate threads with this one being only slightly different, and he's probably mentioning his disability, only a couple times, due to the possibility that GT5/gaming is his main hobby. He's not asking for sympathy about that, but I do see what you guys mean. It doesn't seem like he needs to point that out specifically.

Either way, don't chastise him for it.

He made 3 separete threads which were merged by a mod and now there's this one, which is 4. I can understand his dilemma, but there is no need to go overbaord with all these threads baisically saying the same thing.
