Does Spec-II have improved sound?

I guess the title is self-explanatory. Does the Spec-II update also updates the sounds made by the cars?

aha,i whas one of them
for me the spec II sounds more "alive" and especially the high powerd cars seem to have more volume when revving the engine to extreme...

I think the V8 sound from the Corvette Z06 has improved and the windscreen speed display is now available!
And I notice some of the cars have different sound as before. 👍

Yes, the sound has definitely improved with spec II. The GT-R sounds positively angry.

Plus I have also noticed that when playing online now you can hear the other drivers revving their engines on the start line. Before it just seemed like engine noises were just linked the the speed of the car - as opposed to the wheel speed.

I would like to point out, that the F40 sounds like a real engine is supposed to !... Like a metal coffin filled with bolts and anger :-)

Some engine sounds are definitely improved compared to the first Japanese release. But some engine still sound like a fruit mixer...

CTR or F40 sounds are nice. M3 V8 sound is ugly...

My favorite : Mine's R34 :-)

I too have noticed the improved sound in Spec II.

There is also big improvement in the use of the suround sound speakers when watching replays.

I have a 7 speaker system hooked up to my PS3.

Center Speaker (front)
Left / Right (front)
Left / Right (rear/surround)
Back (rear/behind audience)
Sub (woof woof)

Currently there is no output to my back speaker

Hopefully be end of this month ill get 5.1 surround sound wish me luck guys. I wonder how IMPROVED it will be from ( i keep my option at #1 right now, with SPEC I version of game) So if i do get 5.1, I need to switch to large theater option?

i have 5.1 and am very pleased
i checked both small and large theater settings and pesonally the small one brings out the best of my system in the room its in....big theater is for my situation too much surround and makes it a bit chaotic.....
so i think its different for everyones personall settings/situation etc etc...just try it out mate you will be amazed by how much this surround sound will add to the fun/realism factor!!!!

The sound definitely has improved, however, I can't say I find it brilliant, rather than just good, but improveable.

I have to agree with most of the previous posts. Some of the cars, such as the Corvette and GTR have improved, and I actually think the Mustang V8 was toned down slightly, but not a lot, and I think it's more realistic, as the 500+ HP Corvette should sound more angry than the 300 HP Mustang...and IMO, now it does. Still a little bit off from Forza and PGR in the sound category, but PD has definitely improved, even with Spec II. Maybe PD only had time to implement new and better sound for some of the cars???

And does it EVER sound good in 5.1 surrround ... !
It gives me shivers when I put it on high volume, bass to the max, turn off in game music and put race sound to 150 then start revving...MmMmmMmMmm

And yes.. I do believe there is a difference since the Spec II update (JP version)..And im lovin' it.

I notice that most people only mention the engine/exhaust noises. How about the rest of the sound effects ingame? Tyre and wind noise for example.

good idea,but prologue demo whas allready less than prologue I....so i dont think that will do the trick mate
