Does the AI cheat on Tokyo Route 246 ?

Im on the last race of the allstar race in pro

I can't get better than third, and the AI is beating me with that stupid light blue car by 34 seconds or so every time.

My best lap is 1:26 with averages about 1 second high.

The AI literally gains 10 seconds a lap on me.

Up until this point ive been kicking ass with the 787B

Ive tried superslicks and didnt bother pitting, I got beat by like 50 seconds,

Then I tried mediums and pitted at the end of lap 7, and still got beat by 34 seconds.

The 2 front cars, that light blue one, and the toyota race car are destroying me. How is this possible ?

Also, When I get 3rd place, I end up tied for first in points, but it kicks me down to second place. What gives ?

I already threw my Xbox remote at the TV and broke that, I kicked the coffee table, I'm about to snap, fly to japan and go on a killing spree !

Sounds like the infamous AI 'boost' towards the end of a series plus the AI are pretty hot around R246.
Sounds like you need an F1??

I personally can't see the problem. In pro Allstar the 787B should own the AI, maybe your a bad driver i dunno.

Oh man, I don't want to do that entire series over again :(

I don't have any f1 cars either.

Is there a way I can block the nissan so he gets last place ? maybe block him in the pit area somehow ?

Just race better...

also, you say up until that point you've been kicking ass with the 787B. if this is true then it wouldn't matter if you came in second, third, etc you'd have enough points to win.

just keep racing and improving your settings till ya get 2nd or better.'
I dont have a quick fix for this.
good luck and tight lines d00d.
keep us updated :)

I dont think the AI cheats....the developers have tried to make a game that is desiegned to provide you with a challenge on the harder stages....this results in making your opponents last forever with perfect control on red tyres when you have to pit in....

i am sure that the handling of YOUR car gets interfered with when in the Formula GT championship....try racing the polly001 on Grand Valley....you'll spin you car and lose control all over the place, but try the same track with the same car but an easier race and you'll make no misatkes in the same places....

i cannot win this stage no matter what i do....

also when you are like 25 secs behind the leading car on this stage, its easy to catch him....but its hard as hell to gain 25 second on him once you over take him even though you maintain your speed and aggression....he just sticks with you...

actually, it does cheat...:irked:

I just tried this race and it's not all that easy using medium tires. The Toyota GT-One and the R390 are both faster than you, but they both pit twice. The Toyota pits on 5 & 10 and the R390 pits on 7 & 14. I only pitted on 7.

The Toyota is easy to beat because he keeps running into walls. He always bumps that wall as he comes out of the sweeper turning into the straight on the top of the map, and you can shoot past him, but then he seems to speed up a whole bunch. He just kept running into me and screwing me up. He slammed me into the wall twice as I tried to pass him. He rear-ended me a few times going into the narrow part and then in the last turn. When he pitted on 5 I thought I was done with him, but then when I pitted on 7, just after I got around the first turn and was getting up to speed he slammed right into me again, spinning me out, leaving me stopped against the wall facing backwards. That put me 10 seconds down from him, and I passed him when he was in the pit, so I never had to worry about him again, but I still got 2nd by 3 sec.

Anyway, the race is very winnable with stock mediums, but it'd be a lot easier with T2's and not pitting. Actually, it'd probably be a lot easier if you just qualified.

why dont you try to get an f1...
race the endurance on the super speedway and try to get the f1 this should help you kick the **** of the stupid AI's

I did fine in that race...:odd: It wasn't that hard for me.

So BBM, you probably would've won if he didn't hit you more than once? I think it's also a better idea to run with the Superhard tires, as then you won't have to pit and lose all that time on the long Tokyo straight.

Its been a while since I raced that series, thought I owned the lot using the Toyota GT1 with a stage 3 turbo upgrade and medium hard tyres.

As far as the polly 001 it rocks! When I did the Formula GT championship I was able to lap the entire field on ever race except the test course.

It is all on the setup of the car, and how you drive. Super late braking and power sliding the car slows you down and or chews your tyres up quickly, so does hitting the ripple strips or going off course.

No, the AI is not cheating. Unless you call using a 1,200HP Nissan R390 GT1 LM Race Car cheating, then yea, it did cheat.

I ran this race a week ago, and I had to use the Stage 1 turbo upgrade to come in first. This gave me 695HP. I used T5 tires too.

You could always just reload and re-enter the race until the R390 isn't in there... One time I entered the race and the R390, Toyota and 787B were all missing. The best AI car was the Jaguar race car.

Of course, this isn't a very good solution when you've already made it to the last race...

I just got done racing it. It took me five tries to get the GTOne, and the R390 race cars. I finished with a poor 22 minutes flat, but it was good enough to beat the 1,200HP R390 for first place.

My top speed in the long straight was 193 mph, and when I drafted the GTOne, I reached 202 mph. The R390 blew by me when I was on the straight once. I was going about 189 when it past by me by a good 45 to 50 mph.

I pitted on lap 8, the R390 pitted of lap 7, and 14, just lkeBBM said it would. I raced against the 787, just to see how fast it was. I beat the thing by a good 9 seconds by the time I got to the chicane on lap 3. Not much of a challenge with the Turbo 1 upgrade. I think I'll go back and try it without the turbo upgrade.

This race was the toughest of the GT All Stars Pro. The AI are all running stronger on Tokyo for some reason. From the compendium, I had to install the Stage 1 Turob to keep competitive. Managed a win by 45 seconds because of pit scheduling.

the biggest key on this particular track is conserving momentum. Do this by early braking and staying off hte walls. A good wall ding will cost you speed, and when you've got to stretch that speed out over a few miles, it makes a huge impact.

Good Luck

AO

I beat the Pro All-stars AI in a Mitsubishi FTO LM Race Car.;)

maybe your car setup is wrong look at your camber angle and set it to 3.5 in the front and 2.5 in the rear and then toe your rear out to 2 then your car should be able to take turn 2, 3 , 5 flat out and the others set your marks for a tap on the brakes to turn under max throttle:D

I don't know what car you're talking about, but I setup my 787B even more aggressively than that and I still can't take any turns "flat out." At full speed, I'm up to 185 MPH on the back stretch, and I have to let off the gas a little and hit it perfectly to take that little chicane at 180 MPH. I'm using

Springs: front 18.4, rear 17.8
Ride Height: front 55, rear 57
Camber: front 4.4, rear 2.2
Toe: front -0.5, rear -2.0
Brakes: front 15, rear 16
LSD: Initial 60, Accel 60, Decel 5
tranny trick, final 3.222
Downforce: front 0.77, rear 0.88
ASM 0, TCS 1

I just did it again and got 21'51.398, beating the R390 by 20.533. My race was just plain sloppy. I was always just barely bumping the walls, and I was getting a lot of 1'26 laps. When I finally ran a clean lap I got a 1'22.258, which took me from +2.868 down on the R390 to 1st place by -1.238. I had a good fight with the R390 for several laps, but then he pitted on 14.

You must've had a ton of downforce! I hit the rev limiter at 226.9 MPH right at the end of the main straight without drafting.

I tried the race once without the Stage 1 Turbo. It wasn't hard to stay in front of the 787B, but I couldn't keep up with the Toyota.

Anyway, here's my replay if anyone cares. The first lap was pretty cool. The AI 787B hit the R390, then he hit a wall going into the next turn and did a 360. Then I got slammed into another wall in traffic.

Yes, I always run with a max setting of downforce. It's just my style to take turns as fast as possible. I don't care much for top speed on straights. Just like in real life.:D

Of course, I know to ease back on the downforce when racing the Test Course, but not by much. You can reach much higher speeds in the turns compared with the rest of the cars, and the turns have more road surface than the straights, I think.

On the Super Speedway, I tried to see what setup would be better, a lot of downforce, with a slower top speed, or reduced downforce, with a higher top speed. Both were about equal in GT3. So, you should setup your car's downforce for the type of driving style you ike best. Fast turns, and slower top speed, or a slow turns, with a higher top speed.

I'm sure you already figured that out on your own, though.:D

really that 4.4 camber on your front end dosent mess with your braking any time i get over 3.8 camber on any car i notice that the car is useing mostly rear brakes to slow it down and that causes it to push in the turn

As per the initial tittle of this thread ....... YES!!! The AI cars do cheat somewhat at times. I have gone through replays of certain races where the AI cars were catching up to me although I was actually going at a faster speed then they were. At this point it hasn't stopped me from winning races (yet), but it did puzzle me somewhat that I could be cought up at a point and time by a car going slower then me. Try it and see!

even though tokyo is my most hated track and the track im the worst on i still beat the computer AI 98% of the time

Why are your rear brakes stronger than the front? Put more downforce on and reduce the camber on the front.

ouch!:O

It's mostly during the long carousel turns that the AI just hugs the road to perfection (God I hate that) that's where I mostly loose out, but you can regain in the last third of the track once you learn the apex of the turns.
All I can say is practice, practice and if you any time left, practice some more; R246 is the toughest track to tame.

(BTW, cool quote you got in your sig ving. :D)

I just did that series not to long ago and I was ahead enough to just skip the race al together but I was leading by the end of the first lap using the Raybrig NSX with the best turbo you could put in it.

AznFuman: Yup ...... Fumes does seem to have most of the best seetings out there ...... though still missing a few......
