Does the oil warning light ever come on?

If I remember correctly in GT3 & GT4 after a fair amount of races in one car, the oil light would come on during a a race.

Im just wondering if its happened to anyone? Checking my gt-r in the auto centre (which ive drove ALOT), its showing I need a oil change but no oil light yet. Im guessing it'll come on eventually but just seeing if anyone can enlighten me.
 
Yes, it will come on. I bought a used car and forgot to change the oil before a race, and saw that it was on. I haven't had another come on yet, but I've gotten better about remembering to change the oil regularly. ;)
 
Yep. I got it after grinding with the same ZR1 for a few hours.
 
yes i bought a used car and the oil light was already on. i wait until the light comes on then the car gets a complete overhaul including chassis.

Curious though as ive never tried it, what happens if you dont change the oil at all? Continuous loss of bhp?
 
Yeah every time I buy a used car, the light is on already.

Well, IRL, when the "idiot light" comes on, you've done some damage to the engine most likely. Not sure what the game effects are, but I'd bet on loss of HP until you did both oil change and, eventually, engine rebuild.
 
Around 2000 miles on my Minolta was enough to bring the oil light on.
 
Like in GT4, its almost impossible. I remember getting it in GT4 like after putting more than 2000 Kilometers on the odometer. Ussually I don´t keep a car for that long before repurchasing it.
