Ok, i just got this game 12 hours ago, and already have $500,000.  I just bought the RUF for $382,000 and still cant compete in the level right above the amateur level. ( i think its professional) i mean, im finishing third and stuff, but when i come to a turn, i have to slow wayyyy down with braking and they just take turns really easy. Is there something im doing wrong or are you having the same problems?

Dude you need racing cars for pro level. Cars like Toyota GT1, Calsonic Skyline, Denso Supra, etc. RUF won't do much in PRO unless its fully upgraded, and the it will only win a few races in PRO.

Yeah my steering sux also, I mean it gets me frustrated as of late. I have a CL 600 Benz that is upgraded to 609HP and I added racing breaks etc.. and it's seems very slow, it fully suped I think.Same for my Skyline witch is now at 1,000HP but it slides all the time and it's very easy to loose control with at the end costed me alot of racing. It seems my only competition is the tracks. Cause it seems when there is a series of a race that is on the test tracks I literally lap the card in a 3 lap race. What should I do?

Rubbing is racing!

The steering is better. The second game had understeer at 20 mph in rally cars.

The game is about tuning your car. you cant just sup it up and expect it to ride well, a tuned car (suspension gearing ect) will run circles around a plain suped up car. Take the time to customize a car to your driving style dont just complain about stock settings.

Everyone seems to be having this problem (including me). If you have a souped up car racing against race cars its going to be extremely difficult because the non racing cars aren't meant to turn at that speed. Trust me, my Skyline stopped winning at right around the pro level. you may be going the same speed but the momentum from the extra turbo package you installed will make turning very tricky. I suggest you take a Skyline or your RUF boost the speed and run it in the Super Speedway Endurance race which is about 1 hour. or you could try to win the Like the Wind race if you have the S License. The Super Speedway race can give you an F1 car if your lucky or the Corvette C5R  which you can use to win race cars and the Like the Wind race can give you the Mazda 787B.

Another thing to remember is that this game is all about precision. Having the most powerful car does not neccessarily mean you will win all the races. You have to know how to drive efficiently and how to tune your car. The best way to practice your driving skills is by racing an unmodified car in one of its respective races (i.e. getting a decent FF car like a Celica or something) and playing that. You'll realize that you have to develop your skill at the game rather quickly. Later you can apply that to your much faster cars. You'll have to brake harder, and you'll definately need to do some tuning to the suspension, but once you learn some skill you will be able to perform fine.

Another thing you can do (although this is much more time consuming) is keep doing the license runs until you get gold medals in them. This will teach you the skills that you'll need to succeed -- it's pretty much the reason that they have the licensing tasks.

So, just keep in mind that this isn't like Ridge Racer or some other Arcade-Style racing game. Learn a little skill, and it will take you a long way.

win an endurance race (if wanna take the time) until you get an f1 car, they handle pretty sweet. but it is true that you have to play around with your cars settings and find out how to make them handle better. the best race car that you can buy is probably the vette c5r

maybe its because i have skillz or because i have the GT Force wheel, but my handling is l33t. I have beaten all of the rallys and still improving...

The first thing i noticed about this one as opposed to the second installment, was the handling characteristics.  If you want to turn better and get better lap times, you NEED to tune your car, like that guy said (sorry, name eludes me) a tuned car would kill a souped up stock car.  You have to mess with everything in the settings: gear ratios, camber, shocks, ride hight, downforce, etc. depending on the course.  It dosent hurt either to qualify on the tracks, because the better you tune your car, the better your lap times, the better you are at racing against the high class cars.  Time and time again has practice makes perfect is said, and this is absolutely the truth.

There are some ways to turn your car fast instead of buy a new 'super car' (How good is the idea to buy a new one?).
1. Never put a limited slip in your car if you playing on-road race. Limited slip may stable your car, but it also turn down the turning ablity. (very important!)
2. Don't use automatic shift, you can't use downshift while you are turning.
3. FR, MR and 4WD cars' turning tech is different. Over all, FR and MR are easier to turn than the 4WD. Hit gas repeatly while turning a FR/MR car is also help a lot (but if you hold down the gas, FR car is very easy to spin). A 4WD car, likr the skyline-gtR I have, is not that easy to turn, you need to downshift+break to turn every single one if you got too much HP.
Also, the turn entry point is different for FR/MR and 4WD car.

I hope this will help you to beat the game eirlier.
