Ok. Yesterday my stepbrother was being stupid and started turning off my PS2 while I was playing it. (There is a light switch upstairs that turns on the plugged in lights, downstairs and my PS2 is plugged in to one of those sockets) :mad: Turned the Dogdarn thing off 3 times, :mad: :mad: But it was running fine last night. WELL, I fire it up today and the BLOODY green light won't turn on! There was an electrical problem. :banghead: I tryed some things then I wen't upstairs to get some testers (tels you if the cables are ok) and I saw the green light on my PS2 turned on but the fan or anything was not running, so I hit the power button and the screen came up, I heard some wierd noises in the disk tray area. I IMMEDIATLY turned it off (even the switch at the back), I knew I had a REAL problem. :mad: :mad: :mad: I decided to try it one more ****ing time. I TURNED ON THE ****ING BACK SWITCH AND THE ****ING GREEN LIGHT WAS ON EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT HIT THE BUTTON YET. I hit the front button and the fan came on BUT THERE WAS NO ****ING PICTURE ON THE SCREEN! :mad: I decided to see if anything was burning out, and I smelt the back of the PS2 and something was burning up so now I gotta FIND A NEW ****ING PS2 BECAUSE MY ****ING BROTHER RUINED IT! :mad:

Sorry for all the swearing but I'm SO (#1!)ed right now! :mad: Does anyone know whats wrong? I had my PS2 for a year. Can I take it back and get my money back? :( :(
 
If the fans are not running, then most likely one of the processors or power supply overheated. Basically, your PS2 is screwed.

PS2 systems only cost $179. Make your stepbrother pay for a new one.
 
I am gonna make him pay for it but he does not even have a job. How am I supposed to get money from his stupid ass? :irked:

Make him work it off. Ask your mom if she could pay "you" for mowing the grass or some other household chores and then make your stepbrother do it. :trouble:

Make him buy the new model of the PS2. Is it out yet? The one with the built-in remote sensor, the firewire removed, and the like? Yeah, get that, because PSX won't be coming out for a looong while....
 
Yeah, make him get you one in one of those funky new colours as well...also, after he gets you the money, kill him...;) :p
 
Just tell your mom what he did, and I'm pretty sure she will find a way to make him pay you back.
 
My mother does not even want to beleve it's HIS fault! :mad: :banghead: I guess I'm just gonna have to work my asshat off for a new one. :grumpy:

Yay! Screw BUYING a new PS2 as my mother told me she also bought a 2-year warrenty along with the PS2. :D :D My other one had a couple of problems but now, I can get a new one, for free. :D I'm so happy. :( And my stupid brother is not gonna use it, either. :p :lol:
 
Wow, you're pretty lucky F1Man, now show him a knife, and pretend to slash it against your throat, then point to your new PS2...;)

Make sure that you plug your new one into a surge protector, so it won't be so easy to break it if he decides to turn it on and off with the light switch again.

Yes I am and my stupid brother is still like "Well I still wanna use it when you get a new one" And I'm like "tough ****, @$$hole" :p

Yeah, we accidently plugged 4 appliances in the 4 slots, and it surged...heh...:O
 
take your broken ps2, corner your step brother and while holding it by the cord and beat him until he no longer has the ability to flip a light switch.
