Don't mean to be picky with details but why doesn't my Focus ST not sound like an ST?

Basically I bought a Focus ST in the game to race with so I tuned it slightly. When I changed the filter and put the "Sports exhaust" on it the car lost the nice warbly 5 cylinder STs are known for. Instead what it sound like was any other 4 cylinder car which felt odd when racing around in the car. I did try putting my stock exhaust and filter on but it didn't even restore the original noise. Surely if other games can get that right why couldn't GT5? The reason for my rant is because I think there's an enjoyment to racing games when the cars sound like their real life counterparts, it just somehow enhances the game more. Anyway is there a fix for this or will I just have to buy another ST?

Cheers Maimun

Try putting a modified exhaust on the Dodge Ram. It sounds like a Honda Civic with a hole rusted through the muffler.

You should be able to revert to the original sound with standard exhaust. I've noticed that the sound change doesn't seem to take effect if I change it under "settings" within a race/time trial session though, I need to have been back to the menu screen and start up a new race.

Thanks for the help guys, glad to know it's not just me with this issue. I'll see if your tip works then Miths. Now I'll be more selective with my exhaust upgrades on certain cars. Huge letdown though in my opinion though.

One thing I noticed about sound -- especially with the bigger engine cars, is that it sounds ALOT better from the chase cam...

My Dodge Viper sounds like a...i don't know, but it doesn't sound like a Dodge Viper. On the other hand, some of the sounds (like the 1970 Mustang Trans Cammer) are freakin' dead on.

I've noticed that too, the VTEC Hondas don't really sound like they have VTEC but to be fair they never did in the GT games. But on the other hand the ST sounded spot on when I first bought it.
