Downforce Question ?

The more downforce you have the more the car will be pushed into the track giving the car more grip but this causes more drag so your top speed is reduced ... The less downforce you have the less the car is pushed into the track giving it less grip but this causes less drag so your top speer is increased. Downforce is the main factor for handling at speee but it has less effect at low speed.

More downforce up front will mean less understeer, less downforce will mean more understeer.

More downforce on the rear will mean less oversteer, less downforce will mean more oversteer.

High downforce = less top speed, more pressure on the wheels
Low downforce = higher top speed, less pressure on the wheels

It's right in the '?' of the downforce settings.

My Question - Does a car go Faster When the Downforce is set to low or high ??

In a straight line, it'll go slower with more downforce, but it can maintain higher speeds in corners. Indy, although it has a lot of straights, I treat as a high downforce circuit because you cut more time from your lap being able to do the whole thing at 200mph (as an example) instead of doing 220mph on the straights and 170 in the corners.

An example of a low downforce circuit would probably be Monza as the corners are fairly low speed anyway, Fuji and Le Mans because the straight sections are so long, you can lose a lot of time if you top out at 200mph instead of 220 there. A classic high downforce track is obviously the Nürburgring as the surface is so bumpy and twisty, you want to stick to it as well as possible.

If I'm honest I tend to put the downforce up and leave it there, the only circuit I bother to turn it down for is Le Mans.

Indy Road course also works best with low downforce. There are no corners fast enough for lot's of downforce, and you have a 2km full throttle section.
