download update from PSN store?

can I download the 1.05 update from the psn store? long story short, my launch day 60gb YLOD on me 2 weeks ago, got it fixed, its working, but not now it wont read any game. I have all my saves on the HD and trying to copy them over to my flash drive but I cant update to 1.05. Any help? can I download it on my comp?

Hey z28 - you should be able to download update to your comp, pop it onto flash drive and install that way - good luck!

That is not possible for any game on the PS3.

The only way is to make sure you are connected to the Internet and launch GT5, the update should automatically appear.
 
If you have bought or buy a new PS3 you can transfer all the data from the old one to the new one via the data transfer (ethernet connection)
 
thanks everyone for the help. I had them put in a new blu ray drive (100 bucks) and finally got the update so I can save my game save file.
