I just went and reserved Fight Night Round 4 and I got a voucher that would allow me to get a demo of it. I no longer have net at my house, but I have it at work. Is there any way I could download the demo at work and save it to a USB stick so I can take it home and put it on my PS3?

No. The code has to be put into the PS3 Account Management or Store.

Side note: I am still perplexed at this concept of demos for pre-ordering.

As far as I know, other than PSP content, all downloadable PS3 content is only available through the PSN store. You could see if a friend or neighbor would let you use their internet connection, or if you have a really cool boss, which might be the case assuming you have permission to use the net to visit and post in GTP, maybe they will let you bring your PS3 in to work in order to download the demo.

I would really try and play the demo before you buy fight night round 4. I have played the demo, and it is the worst fight night ever. They really screwed up the franchise. I have owned every boxing game ever made. One of my friends even bought a japanese ps2 to play the old k1, and mma games that didn't get released in the U.S.

The new fight night is easily the worst fighting sim ever. It feels like you are floating through the air the whole time. I haven't heard anyone say anything good about it yet. I played it for over an hour, trying to convince myself that it was worth buying, and couldn't do it.

I'm not sure, but I couldn't find anyway to download a demo, if you have to use a code.

You could just sneak your PS3 in to where you work and DL the demo.

I am too, why not let us play the demo BEFORE pre-ordering, that way we make a decision based on whether we like the demo or not.

It's like test driving a used car after you buy it.

I suspect it's based on the idea that perhaps many people that pre-order a game, especially at full price, rather than wait for it to come out and rent it or wait for more reviews, are likely already sold on the game, and the demo is simply a way for the fans to get a taste of the game while they wait for the full game to actually become available... basically like a bonus.

As for the car example, I suppose you could compare it to a dealer who gives a customer that placed an order for a new model Porsche a lesser quality model as a loaner car while he waits for his car to be delivered... basically giving him a taste of what he is going to be getting later on as a reward for placing an order and having to wait for it to be delivered.

Fight night round for is one game that it's backfiring on. I have at least 6 close friends that have cancelled their pre order after playing the demo.
If I was the producer of the game, I wouldn't release the demo until after the release of the game.

If what you say is true, then yeah, I would also not have released a demo before or even after it was released.

Even for great games, demos can be a double edged sword. If the demo is too good and feature filled, some casual gamers wont even bother to buy or even rent the game and just stick with playing the demo on occasions.

However, if the demo is a poor representation of the game (as many demos have been, going back as far as the F1CE demo), then you could also turn off a lot of potential customers who otherwise would very likely love the game, but the demo scared them off... which also may be the case with Fight Night R4 in that perhaps the game is much better than the demo suggests.

Regardless, I was merely offering an explanation on the concept of offering demos for pre-ordering.

It is similar to companies offering beta codes. While it is very likely the final game is going to be better, but at least it gives fans something to play around with while they wait.

I could bring the PS3 to work since I am the boss, but I don't have a tv near my modem. How would I go about playing it through a monitor?

You can get an adaptor for the monitor input type to match one of the various PS3 video output types. Check places like Newegg and Radio shack.

Thanks, there's a radio shack near here, I look into that.
